UPDATED: FEB 13, 2005 Red-brown-orange with firm beige head.
Fresh, spicy, roasted, malty aroma with citrus, chocolate, syrup and treacle. Dry bready flavor with chocolate, treacle and some coffee.
Hints of apple. OK bitterness. A bit thin on the palate but definitely a new favorite in the dark lager department Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUN 15, 2002
Now this beer is called 'Wien' because of some stupid EU-law. A lovely munich dunkel. Great spicy aroma and a wonderful malty and nutty taste. Great. Ronny (100) - Arlöv, SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2002

Lots of mature malt and barley sugar in a good cooperation to give this brown beer a deep aroma with lots of content.

Brown color, medium head and body. Aroma of caramel, weak coffee and something bitter (farmaceutic or herbal). Malty, caramelly, a bit roasty flavors with strong hoppy bitterness (quite unusual). Superb. Pyrmir (6199) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JUL 17, 2013
500 ml bottle. Dark amber with bright orange foam. Aroma is sweet and malty, bready and nutty. Taste is sweet and mellow, bread, nuts and lots of malt. Low bitterness and bready finish. Sigmund (7832) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 7, 2003
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2006 (500 ml bottle, as Slottskällans Wien). Beautiful dark reddish brown colour, low head. Interesting strong aroma, initially it’s overwhelming horse stable / fresh horse droppings(!), later the caramel, molasses and malts come through. Malty sweetness is well balanced by the hops, pleasant mellow aftertaste. I’ll leave it to the "style police" to discuss if this is Vienna or Munich dunkel - IMO the Swedes have done a reasonably good job with this beer. lassewan (44) - Borlänge, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2002
Nicely dark, nutty lager............................................. rlgk (18852) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 7, 2006
AMber with a nice offwhite head. Malty, milky aroma with some nuts. Flavor is malty and nutty as well, some fruity notes, a bit too thin to be really good, but its still a nice beer.
