COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Fyra sorters humle: Northen Brewer, Perle. Fuggle och East Kent Golding.
Övrig smaksättare: Kanel, ingefära, apelsinskal och nejlikor.

Alkoholhalt: 5,3%

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2006 First rating.
Draught at Bishops Arms (Avenyn) in Gothenburg, Sweden. December 2005.
Pretty boring for a Christmas beer. Nice dark color, but thin body, lacking in scent and flavor.

Second rating.
(50 cl bottle from SWedish Systembolaget).
Very sweet grainy sticky, too damn sweet, scent. Clear dark brown color, tan head. Unfermented wort mixed with raw grain. Thin, grainy yogurt, burnt taste. Thin mouthfeel. Very unpleasant, almost like I want to puke. Disgusting! My mouth feels raped! Never sell or brew this again, at least not like this! And above all to the rest, don’t drink it.

Lots of ginger cookies (pepparkakor, in Swedish - a traditional x-mas cookie) in both aroma and taste. Rather thin body with lots of CO2. Some butterscotch taste and low on bitterness. Low to no aftertaste.

Draught, at Delirium. Dark red with beige head, fully diminishing, no lacings. Aroma moderate malty (brown sugar, caramel) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter, long duration. Light to medium body, oily, soft carbonated. No signs of Christmas in this beer?

joergen (27970) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 31, 2005
Draft at Fynske Øldage 2005. Clear orange coloured with a medium off wite head. Aroma of malts and fruits with notes of dried fruits. Flavour of malts, fruits and dried fruits. Medium bodied.

2.2
TBone (17429) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 3, 2005
Draught
Copper brown, small off-white head. Spicey aroma: clove is dominant. Quite watered spices in the flavor, unbalanced, lacks a good malt profile.

oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 3, 2005
Draught. Dark copper colour, with small beige head. Spice aroma with vegetably hints. Flavour of Finnish X-as cookies along with hops and malt. Wellbalanced. Christmassy indeed.

3.7
Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Dark amber colour (but not quite as dark as a winter night, as the label promises), with a small dense head. Lovely aroma, almost perfumy. Typical Slottskällans spiciness - perhaps a wee touch of cardamom. Slightly sweet, but not sticky in any way. Discreet bitter finish. A very wellmade and different Christmas beer. 170302
