A light brown beer with an OK though fast disappearing head. The aroma is a very sweet and complex malt aroma. The flavor is sweet, malty, and slightly bitter. A fine beer though a little thin compared to my expectation. joergen (28982) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 31, 2005

Draught. Dark copper colour, with small beige head. Spice aroma with vegetably hints. Flavour of Finnish X-as cookies along with hops and malt. Wellbalanced. Christmassy indeed. omhper (25565) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2002
Dark brown heavily spiced ale. Rather malty, but the gingerbread flavour takes over. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Dark amber colour (but not quite as dark as a winter night, as the label promises), with a small dense head. Lovely aroma, almost perfumy. Typical Slottskällans spiciness - perhaps a wee touch of cardamom. Slightly sweet, but not sticky in any way. Discreet bitter finish. A very wellmade and different Christmas beer. 170302 fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 8, 2003
Dark amber color; generous head. Original aroma: malt, caramel, light wallnuts, chocolate. Good body structure, quite dry: malt, some caramel, light wallnuts; getting sweeter at the end. Quite bitter palate (with some caramel, not extraordinary). saxo (19350) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 15, 2009
Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are mainly caramel, but also some hops and fruits.
