A black beer with a great brown head. The aroma is faint of liqurice and chocolate. The flavor is smooth, slightly smoked - pretty sweet to start out, but then a bit watery in the middle for a porter, and then it ends with a nice bitterness. The smoke lingers on the lips. joergen (27970) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 22, 2011

(Bottle 50 cl) As the name promises this really is black - pitch black. The light brown head is tall and handsome help by a carbonation that’s a bit too much. Very dry with pronounced burned aromas and some smoked flavours. Very dry, bitter finish. Very archetypical Porter. 270103 omhper (24959) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 15, 2002
Svart (meaning ’black’) is a very suitable name for this pitch black beer. A beer in the borderlines between porter and stout. Too sweet for a typical stout, but too dry for a porter.
porter. Like I was hoping for it is (by Swedish measures) remarkably bitter and has tones of
liquorice and a big chocolate flavour. Leighton (21074) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2012
Bottle at the flat in Stockholm. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Dusty cocoa nose, hints of tangy dark malts, burnt earth. Light to medium sweet flavor with some bitter earth, burnt cocoa, charred wood, slight minerals, burnt grass. Medium bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish with burnt and dusty cocoa, tobacco, mud, earth, dirt, burnt toast and burnt grass, dry and burnt wood. OK. fiulijn (20370) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 20, 2004
Dark amber color; excessive foam (almost no liquid in the glass). In the beginning it presents only a strong roasted malts aroma, similar to a Stout; later it presents also some roasted nuts, coffee and a light hoppiness. Medium dry texture, with a strong roasted malt character, light liquorice, very light sourness. Strong ending bitterness, given mostly by the roasted malts. A very good example!
