Pours nearly black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Generous lacing. Nose is cocoa, roasted coffee, and malt. Taste is balanced. Slighty bitter like dark chocolate. Medium body, slightly dry, soft carbonation. Nice brew. Quick3Beers (1234) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - APR 16, 2015
Pours a rich dark brown from the tap. I suppose slightly less bitter and full than a stout would be, great rich flavor with lots of dark chocolate richness. Beerdedone (3408) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 28, 2015
Bottle. Pours dark brown almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, cocoa and roasted malts. Flavor of milk chocolate, roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, cocoa and had a hint of smokiness. WillRunForBeer (2652) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 5, 2015

Rated on 7-01-2013 (Bottled 01-2012) The appearance is a large smooth tan head that mostly diminished, opaque dark brown body and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is cocoa, roasted coffee, chocolate, and malt. The flavor is roasted coffee, chocolate, malt, and a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and semi-dry. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, a very quaffable Porter with a very tasty flavor. It is worth trying.

Bottled Oct 2013. Pours inky black with a brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is chocolate. Tastes of cocoa and coffee. Light/medium body. Not too complex. Smooth and balanced. Finishes mildly bitter. This is a pretty good porter, a little one dimensional. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - DEC 9, 2014
From a bottle. Poured a medium brown with a tan head that had nice retention and lace. Aroma had a nice roasted malt presence and a heavy chocolate presence. Flavor had layers of chocolate some semi-sweet and some dark chocolate which. There was a nice bitterness in the after taste which may have come from the cocoa powder. A really smooth beer that was full on the palate. Westchesterco (2043) - mclean, Virginia, USA - NOV 8, 2014
Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown and the head is an ecru. The aroma is boozey. And the taste is strong coffee and it is bitter and strong flavor Iphonephan (6988) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - NOV 8, 2014

Bottle. Pours a black colour and has a nice head. Aromas are blackened malts, some caramel, some spice. Taste is very rich and the mouthfeel fantastic. Dry finish but longlasting taste. A very, very decent black porter!
