Ruby coloured and hazy. Has a white head, mostly lasting. Both aroma and flavor has clear notes of raspberries and some fruity sweetness. Finish a bit astringent.

Thanks Chris! 750ML enjoyed at home for my GF’s birthday. Enjoyed at 60F in a wine glass.

A - Gorgeous blackberry appearance. Nice head that’s also purple.

S - Smells great! raspberries, blackberries and cherries.

T - Dangit. Taste is nothing like the smell. No sweetness. tastes like fresh picked..almost too fresh picked blackberries and blueberries. Bland finish.

M - Light body, high carbonation

O - This was going to be great and then it wasn’t. Sigh.

Thanks to someone for sharing this at a tasting. It was towards the end of the night. A decent beer overall but with flaws, I am glad I did not have to finish an entire bottle myself. It isn’t overly terrible but 8% ABV fruit beers are very filling.

Aroma / Appearance - Smelling like carbonated Welch’s grape juice the nose is very sweet. There’s almost no head to accompany it. Tart black raspberries, dense pureed fruit, and other aromas remind me of walking through a bramble on a warm summer afternoon.

Flavor / Palate - Fruit juice is sweet and almost immediately coats the tongue in a chewy texture. Tangy raspberries linger in the back of the throat. Like an alcoholic bubbly soda it is filling and thick. With some more depth I would have gone and bought another bottle to take home. Instead it goes down the books as one of those "glad to have tried it" but nothing more.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2012 This beer really smells good but the smell was misleading for me. I smelled tart sweet raspberries but the flavor of this beer was dull and muted. Much ado about a typical fruit beer. Yes, the smell and the appearance really saves this beer. Dark reddish purple hue. Well, somethign else makes this beer nearly acceptable; the carbonation. Yez, the co2 was there from the start, an easy friendly bubbling sensation. Not sure what to say of this, I guess a lambic or sweet thing was more than a beermaker should add. This is missing something that would separate it from the pack.

Bottle from a trade a little while back. Very deep crimson colored with a short-lived pinkish head. The aroma is full of raspberry and black currant. The scent has a slight grapey vinous element as well. The flavors here are pretty straight forward. It’s sweet and slightly tart with black raspberry dominating. Some notes of wheat mix in. A touch dry and scratchy in the finish. This is fairly easy drinking for a big sweet fruit beer, and overall not bad, but it’s something I really had trouble getting into. After a few sips it was pretty clear; decent flavor but too one dimensional, not much malt complexity, and wasn’t something I was looking forward to continue drinking (even though I did).

Aroma of blackberry and grape juice. Pours deep black red with no head. Taste is tart black cherry and raspberry with a seltzer feel and taste. Tastes like a diet soda.

On tap at the Selinsgrove Beer & Wine Festival. This is very well done. It is not a "novelty" beer, but rather a well made fruit beer that is worth trying. Single finger surprisingly pink head on a reddish amber body. Aroma isn’t too sweet with musty raspberry and blackberries. Flavor is well balanced.

Thx. to Tinus // 75 cl. Bottle sampled @ RBBSG 2012 // raspberry ruby coloured with an off-white head // smells of raspberry jam, some mashed raspberries // this tastes more or less like raspberry jam, which is pretty good for me; yummy, quite sweet, small touches of malt, some syrup, sweet , lots of jam, pretty much what fruit beers should be // med. body

Very red, crimson colour, off-white head. Aroma of raspberry, black raspberry, quite sweet, light bitter, malts and raspberry pips. Light sweet flavour, blueberries. Quite light, almost weak. Sweet finish, loads of raspberry.

Corked bottle. Strong raspberry aroma. Initial roasted malt challenged by raspberries. fairly dry. Hint of vanilla. Questionable balance. Hint of alcohol. Still a nice beer.
