clear red, small white head. Sweet and slightly sour aroma of fresh red berries, or fresh berry jam. Aroma is sweet berryish, strange bitter sour flavor, alc. Berries makes it a bit more fresh mR_fr0g (12128) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2015
Bottle shared at Leightons place. Clear deep purple pink coloured pour with a lasting loose pink head. Aroma is sweet raspberry, fresh raspberry, syrup, woody pips. Flavour is chalky mineral water profile, raspberry, bit thin, one dimension. Little tart finish. Palate is airy carbonation, mineral, chalky. Ok not great. Super dry in the finish. j12601 (12000) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2009
Bottle at the Cuvee de Castleton release at Captain Lawrence. Pours a hazy red brown with some purple highlights. Not much of a head. Soft sweet raspberry aromas. Egads is this sweet. Cloying artificial raspberry flavors are overwhelming… very one dimensional. deyholla (11609) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 28, 2011
Bottle. Poured a cloudy dark amber red with a pinkish white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of black raspberries with some tartness, quite one note. Flavor is similar one note with a black raspberries throughout and not much else coming through. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

dark red, wispy pink head, overly tart yet sweet raspberry aroma, huge carbonated raspberry flavor, light tartness, not much complexity
Aroma: 5/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 5/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 10/20
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2006 Nice raspberry aroma. Tastes like raspberry, with some citrus, yeast, and hops at the finish. Nice style, but beware that this one is not very tart like the New Glarus offerings. Rather, it has a more subtle taste, more like fresh raspberries. Bottle at Jan & Charlottes tasting, Ulfborg, Denmark 09.04.11 cheers Jan & Charlotte Nice aroma here, reminding me a little of Boon Framboise, in fact the aroma is bloody gorgeous. Pours blood red with a very light pink head. The aroma suggests that this is going to be a belter and better than it actually ends up to be. Taste however is a little thin with no depth, lacking sourness, fruity bite and depth. sadly. A9 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.5 jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2007
Bottle. Deep pink/purple body, with a fluffy pink head. (3+) Big but diffuse raspberry aroma, tiny note of raspberry seeds. Flavour is dominated by lightly tart raspberry and not much else. Muted malt flavour is overshadowed by raspberry, which is pleasant enough but lacks the depth or complexity to take it from a amiable quaff to a more interesting sipper. 6+/3+/6/3/12-13 olio (10290) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 28, 2011

Pours clear red colour with a beautiful pink head. Aroma is distinct raspberry, sour fruits, spices and strawberry. Flavour is raspberry, sour fruits and strawberry with some notes of spices. Strong carbonation, very crisp and refreshing.
750 ml bottle via trade with michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Pours a lovely deep purple color with a finger-thick black raspberry-tinted off-white. Big black raspberry aroma, really fresh and fruity, without much else going on. The flavor, though, falls a little flat. Tasted like black raspberry flavored tonic water. Light-bodied, with very high carbonation and a spritzer-like mouthfeel. Fizzy. 8% ABV was nowhere to be found. Very interesting fruit beer; everyone who tried this one liked it but thought the flavor could have had more going on.
