UPDATED: OCT 9, 2006 magnum bottle compliments of michael-pollack. Thanks! dark cranberry pour with thick foamy head. fresh aroma of wheat and raspberry, mild sugar. Smells like a Rasp cobbler. First sip was a bit much but the flavor mellows quickly. As it warms and as you continue to drink it mellows as well. nice raspberry, wheat, sour malts, mild sugars. clean wheat becomes more present as it warms. nice lacing throughout. This was very enjoyable. Thanks again Mike. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 11, 2006
Bottle from Doclock. Pours red with a pink head. Smells metallic with some pronounced raspberry notes. Taste is crisp and dry with raspberries there but not overwhelming you. Some hoppiness present as well. Very drinkable and enjoyable. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - DEC 17, 2006
750 ml bottle. Poured a dark and hazy purple color with fizzy, light purple head. Strong aroma of raspberries. While raspberries were also the dominant flavor, it was not overpowering. No sourness that some others have reported. My wife and I shared this bottle along with some goat cheese and it was an excellent pairing. Light bodied, not at all syrupy or cloying. This bottle was quite enjoyable and I’ll be back for another! spector (906) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - JAN 16, 2007

Thanks for sharing, Weepie. Dark red body, light pink head. The raspberry aroma is very strong. A nice floral smell. The taste is subtle raspberry, very fresh, not sweet. Fruity and well balanced. A lightly tart finish. Very well made.

From the bottle, pours with a big heavy head that quickly dissipates . Strong aroma of raspberries last throughout, though it is not very sweet. Light body and high carbonation makes this taste like a dry champagne. Very nice when you want something fruity and light. dnstone (3429) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAR 13, 2011
Strongly raspberry aroma. Pinkish framboise-like color with a small white head. More malty than raspberry flavor and not sweet (as expected?). bhensonb (15347) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 23, 2013
750 c&c from BottleSelect.com. Pours darkly ruddy with an off-pink head. Aroma is very raspberry - more black than not. Med minus body. Flavor is rather tart raspberry. Again more towards black than red. It’s really dryish, and has a raspberry tartness on into the finish. Goes a bit thinnish, but the flavor isn’t affected. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - SEP 24, 2014

Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super deep ruby red color which almost looks garnet due to its super dark red nature. Upon pouring there is a big thick pink colored foamy head on the top of the brew. Big bubbles in the head pop over time leaving a nice leave islands of bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is of a big and sweet blackberry and raspberry smell. The aroma while sweet due to the fruit aromas, has other sweet aromas of a candied sugar adding to the sweetness. Mixed with these aromas are a little bit of yeast as well as a tiny bit of bread.
Taste – While the nose was very sweet smelling the taste was actually rather dry. It begins with a dry raspberry and blackberry flavor mixed with some cracker malt and a bit of bread. While there is a bit of sweetness from the fruits present upfront, the sweetness actually fades over time, as the taste advances with it drying out even more with a more tart like flavor coming to the tongue. A bit of a yeasty taste as well as some light sweetness comes to the tongue more toward the end, but instead of the sweet being more berry like it is more grape juice like in flavor. A lighter hop flavor of a grassy nature joins the taste at the very end and mixes with the rest to leave a moderately dry and slightly tart berry red wine like flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner and crisper side with a carbonation that consists of tons of little champagne like bubbles. Both are rather appropriate for the dry flavors of the brew as well as wine characteristics, giving it a fruited dry champagne like feel.
Overall – A rather dry fruity beer, although maybe a little too dry. It would have likely been a bit nicer with more sweetness. At ~ $ 10-11 you could likely get a sparkling fruit wine of a similar caliber for even less as this is what this tasted most like to me. 4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Dark reddish with 1-2 fingers of light purple head. Aromas of raspberries mostly. Tastes of raspberries, malt. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Pretty simple, heavy on the fruit for those who prefer that type of fruit beer.
