One of three bottles to reach Colorado. Thanks, Randy. I love this stuff. Spicy & fruity, I think the rye blends in smoothly. A lot of pepper and dry rye followed by juicy malts and light fruit. Send more!
Poured from a 750 ml bottle that I have sat on for far too long.
Aroma has a moderate malt note with some honey and caramel notes as well as grain and crackers. Moderate notes of red apple, over ripe pear and stone fruit with a bit of banana. Some light herbal phenolic notes.
A moderate gusher, which I remember this doing when fresh too. Pours a hazy, fairly bright, orange color with a large, thick, fluffy, white head that shows great retention as it slowly recedes into itself. High lacing and no legs.
Flavor is moderately to rather sweet with caramel and honey as well as some light grain and cracker notes. Moderate notes of red apple, pear and stone fruit with some light banana. Hints of phenolics with an herbal, grassy character and a medium light bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, an alright saison, but a bit plain. The age has really brought out the malt sweetness, but I think it has also helped to accentuate the fruity esters. Richmond 21st. Pale yellow, slight haze, crazy head. Light sweet grain aroma, hint of lemon. Flavor matches, pretty dry finish, touch dusty. Not a complex saison, but a nice enough one.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of rye, earthiness, yeast, spice and white pepper. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. 750 cc from Pottstown location. Pours turbid dark straw toward orange with 1-finger white head and spare carbonation. Nose is big rye malt notes, hopcitrus, bready, funky, spicy. Tastes incredible: a nice medley of rye malt, spicy floral funky notes, fruity notes, white pepper, and a juicy spicy finish. This one is great., and comes off like a Belgian Tripel with added rye. Wonderful.
