I received this from jwc215...Thanks again, Joe!
Pours from 12oz can a clear amber with a huge head of foam that shrinks to about a finger layer but never leaves the scene and there's plenty of lacing.
The smell is light. I get some sweet malt and some hop bitterness.
The taste on first sip hits my palate with a caramel malt flavour that's by some hop bitterness and some citrus...it has a lemon zestiness to it that borders on being on the sour side. Interesting.
Further sips in and I'm getting biscuity notes and some roasted malt but the twang from the lemon zest is top dog here for me. The finish returns to the caramel malt and makes for a very nice aftertaste.
It has a light body and the carbonation is pretty high.
Bottom line: This has a really unusual taste for a Dunkel and that keeps me interested for the entire session. I recommend it, as it would make for an excellent summertime staple.
Draught @ Albion. Clear dark amber with small foamy off-white head, faint caramel aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet caramel taste with bitterness at the end, thin body, medium bitter caramel finish. Smooth and easy to drink. kramer (6908) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2016
Tap. Pours a clear amber body with a small frothy white head that faded to a thin filmm. The nose is toasty malt with a little huskiness and some minimal German hops. The flavor is clean and slightly sweet with minimal hops and a slight huskiness. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied but not watery, soft fizzy prickly carbonation. Pretty decent Dunkel, very easy drinking. On draft at Landmark Americana just off campus at Rowan University. This is a mild and malty that is traditional to the style. Easy to session. eelbasher (285) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2014
Can to glass. Pours medium amber with a small off white head. Aromas of bread, caramel malts, and some earthy notes. Drink really easy with caramel, sweet bread, and a smooth finish. Nice

A better beer than many of the reviews indicate. Pours dark amber with light off-white head. Aromas of pine and cinnamon. A slightly bitter, slightly sweet taste characterized by hints of brown sugar and earthy hops. Not the best dunkel I?ve ever had, but not bad either. callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2013

The metal can imparted a strange metallic note to the beer which already had enough bitterness. The light maltiness was o.k. and there was sublte hopping as there should be. Definitely not a great beer by any means, but anything is better than a Budweiser, right?
