Draft at the brewpub. Pours reddish brown with a medium sized tan head. The aroma has a nice mix of banana, brown sugar, spiciness. The taste is medium Banana, some clove, a bit of a spicy finish.

Draft @ Phoenixville location. The beer poured a cloudy, muddy river water color. Very thin head, not much lace. Aroma of banana, wheat, and lots of caramel malt. The flavor shows me lots of German yeast with light notes of sweet caramel and banana. Yeast and malt are balanced real nicely. Nearly a whisper of spice in the finish. Enough malt to give it an almost sticky texture without being astringent. As far as I’m considered, the brewers did a fantastic job recreating a not often brewed German style.

Medium brown with a small but frothy light tan head. Aroma is banana, clove, caramel, and cracked wheat. Flavor is about the same as the aroma. Mostly banana and clove, but balanced out very well by a solid malt foundation and a hint of spice on the finish. Not usually a big fan of anything made with wheat, but this is pretty tasty. Not so overloaded with banana like other dunkelwiezens I’ve had.

Nov. 2006 - Brown pour, lighter than other dunkelweizens, but nice head and lacing. Aroma was wheaty with bananas and cloves. Flavor was rich and full once warm, spicy bananas, cloves and dark roastiness. Good!

This is probably my favorite to date that Sly Fox brews. It pours a wonderful cloudy brownish orange. Very sweet aroma with notes of wheat and banana. It is thick going down with that dark wheat flavor complimented by the banana and a little bit of spice. It does have a slightly sticky aftertaste though.

Nice looking hazy-brown/orange look with small white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, and other grains. Taste is sweet, wheaty with some fruit (especially banana). Nice all-around Wheat Beer from Sly Fox.
