Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark orange/copper color with a semi-rocky white foamy head. Dissipated fairly slow to leave some messy sliding foamy lace.
The aroma had some piney hop bitterness, grapefruit pith, and a steady caramel malt in the background.
The flavor blended moderately the hops to the malts. Seemed like it came and went back and forth, almost getting that "separated" notion I get when a brewer doesn’t do some beers correctly. Aftertaste was disengaged - the malts and hops were scattered. Finish was malty smooth.
The palate was medium bodied with some rough edges from the hop. Carbonation felt fairly low. ABV felt fine.
Overall, not so sure about this IPA, seemed under carbonated to me as that might have cut down on some of the rough hop harshness that didn’t seem to fully connect with the malts. cheap (5857) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 29, 2014
This can says operation homefront. Big clear darker orange color with a thick rocky head. Smell of pine. Thick resinous initial flavors but its not viscous, weird. Large bodied flavor of grapefruit rind,m I think, wew. Must be more than 7% fer sure, wew. Such a giant ipa in a can. Rototiller nasty dig into your palate ipa. Will never be impressed with the rudeness of this style, wew. Art (3217) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2014
On tap at pgh beer Fest. Orange pour with a white head. Floral hop aroma, some citrus orange aroma, no vanilla/maple like the cigar city version. Is this one on maple bats? Taste is just slightly bitter. Finishes slightly sweet. LinusStick (3459) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2014
On tap at Mad Mex Robinson. Delicious IPA. One of the few made on this side of the country that can truly be classified as "west coast style". Aroma was nice. Floral and grapefruit hops. Sticky and resinous. Pour was a nice medium gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was very bitter and hoppy. Grapefruit, pine and bread crust with a nice bitter green hop finish. Medium carbonation. Nicely unbalanced with the hops taking center stage. A little thin in the mouth feel. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2014
On tap at Brunzies. Very mild hop aroma to this one, lightly floral. Coppery amber clear with thin lacing white head. Medium body with heavy carbonation. Nice hop flavor and spicy with some dank quality that’s subtle. Light sweetness from malt. Bitter finish, caramel notes. Smooth after with lingering sharp bitter character.

Good session PA. Aroma of hops, yeast, pine and weed. The weed came and went but it was there. Oh, it was there. Too bitter for how light the brew was. The hops dominated the flavor but the aroma was the kicker here. hallinghansen (3192) - Odense SV, DENMARK - JUN 30, 2014
Cask. Sample @ Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown, Washington DC. Cloudy amber body with a tiny white head. Hops, pine, grapefruit, lemon, lime. Heavy bitter aftertaste. Oily texture. Great. hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2014
12oz can. Drank from can - poured, from what I can tell an amber color with an off white head. Floral hops, grass, and some lighter caramel. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 12, 2013
Draft. Pours clear orange with a medium sized white head. The aroma is spicy, with grapefruit and light florals. Taste is light bitter spicy, and kicks the palate a bit. Very nice. callmemickey (4543) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2013
Dark golden body, medium sized white head, soapy lacing. Nose and flavor show citric, grassy and floral hops. Lightly sweet malt comes through a bit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, pleasant bitterness in the finish. A solid, well-rounded IPA.
