BlackHaddock (7232) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2016
5th Feb 2016: De Bierboom, Brugge. 4th International Beer Swap. Shared 0.75 litre cork and caged bottle. Think sweet prunes and dates soaked in alcohol, then leave the concoction to ferment and age a while. Not too sure I actually liked the taste but I did find it interesting and I am glad to have tried another American Quad.

Big thick quad with a small hint of plumb and pitted fruit with a Belgian candy finish.

Is missing the flavor toy would expect for a quad. Not awful, drinkable. If given a glass I would continue and take it. Don’t need to but it again though. Bottle

PartyFowle (954) - - JUN 23, 2015
Pours a dark purple-brown with orange highlights and a tight tan head, which dissipates quickly with no lacing. Tons of champagne bubbles. Smells of sweet prunes and purple otter pops, with a slight alcohol burn in the nose. The flavor is interesting in that it doesn’t really hit until after you swallow. I get an explosion of yeasty thickness, prunes, dates, raisins, a heavy alcohol warmth, and some bready spiciness like a fruitcake. A great flavor, but it’s still a heavy beer and the alcohol isn’t completely hidden. Medium body, light carbonation. I couldn’t drink more than one bottle of this, but it’s still a decent sipping beer. Not my cup of tea, due to heavy sweetness and the assault of flavors after the swallow, but still good.

Habanero (4639) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - JUN 2, 2015
Bottled. Pours deep brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of, molasses, caramel, yeast notes, overripe, dark fruit and a hint of hoppyness. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry with a little bitterness. Medium bodied syrupy texture and soft carbonation. A nice Barley. 🌟🌟🌟

Some plum, light florals and a little oak. Pours maroon without much head or lacing. Some sweetness. Tap at Jackpot watching hockey playoffs.
