Poured from a 12 oz can. Nice straw color, fairly clear. Hoppy aroma, moderate mouthfeel, good beer for a warm day. Stine (1799) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 18, 2007
Clear straw pour. Honey, chardonnay and crisp apples on the nose. A mild hint of aluminum and a rotting hay mash construct a homogenous and almost foul body to start. Czech hops begin to perk up with warmth, and the interplay begins to click. These suffer from a muted catty putridity, but as a spicy whole they do a fine job to complement the crisp, sweet pils malt. Not the cleanest rendition – licks of corny funk leak through at times. Sprightly though somewhat empty palate. Good for the grill. Thanks Andrew! KingpinIPA (841) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 11, 2007
Can via JB175. Yellow color. Smell of hops, malt, yeast, citrus, pine, bread and some spice. Tastes the same but very crisp and enjoyable. After a little bit of warming up, lemon grass and soem minor yeast are there. Very refeshing beer. widespreadgus (1) - blackwood, New Jersey, USA - JUL 5, 2007 does not count
from a chilled can. this a great example of a true german pilsner, can definitely taste the saaz hops in this !! when it is a fine product, the bottle or can is a mere vehicle for the beer to make it to my glass...not quite the excellence of prima pils but damn close !!! acearl (510) - The Ham, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 22, 2007
From a can. Very recently hyped as far as using a can recently, have read several article in Philly about the great idea of going back to cans and the uniqueness of small breweries, this was crap, watery, tastless, I must have missed the crispness. Poured some into a glass and it was watered down cigarette water, nothing made me want to dring this again except possibly feeling there is a remote chance I got a bad one. Wanted to send it back but the bar I was out was so crowded and was starting to smell so like a locker room. Instead I had to left without asking for $ back.

From a can. Citrus hops aroma. Sweet initial flavour with some tasty hops rounding it out with a drying finish. Prcaus (159) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 21, 2007
Can Alfa Center City Philadelphia-Pours a light golden coloring with white head. Severely watery and lacking in flavoring for my liking. Honestly to be it tasted like a ice cold and watered down bud light. This was a bad experience, even let a few friends try it and everyone agreed won’t be trying this again.. Can from JB175; Nose is grainy, yeasty, and lemon hops; Crystal clear yellow gold with a huge white head; flavor of lemony hop bitterness, breadiness from the medium light body with a big hop finish; maybe not 44IBUs as the can says but close. Great Pils! Styles (2016) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2007
Can, from shadey I believe. Dirty appearance, hazy golden with highly carbonated head. Aroma has huge lemon, floral character up front, not much else detectable. Flavor much the same, lemon, floral, biting hop character. Soft pils malt, finishes fairly clean. Mouthfeel way overcarbonated. Decent overall. highpoint (26) - lansdowne, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 3, 2007
OK- a classic german pils in a can? Fantastic! Nice malt backbone, with lingering hops thruout. gold color, nice lasting head retention. if it was $20 a case, I’d be in trouble!.
