3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz can courtesy of ShanePB via the Hotter than Hot BIF, poured into a Kloster Andechs weizen glass.
Nice cloudy appearance with a orange meringue hue. Head is well retained and creme-colored. Yeasty bananas and wheat in the nose with a pinch of herbal hops. Traces of tropical fruit and lemongrass in the background.
Mineral-rich flavor with a wheat malt backing. Gone are the banana esters and hefeweizen fruitiness. Copper and sulfur on the back of the palate make for an unimpressive profile. Mouthfeel is crisp and bubbly with carbonation with a thin, creamy body. All in all, a decent shot at a canned hefeweizen, but Sly Fox missed the mark with this one.
Draft at brewery. Hazy golden, tiny head. Body about right, light weizen aromas, taste too. Nearly there, but not quite. Maverick34 (3212) - New York, USA - AUG 18, 2016

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of light citrus, herbs. Tastes of wheat, light citrus, herbs. Medium-light body with a semi-dry finish. Decent hefe. Pumpkin87 (248) - - MAY 13, 2016
Pours cloudy golden orange with soapy white head that doesn’t last long but leaves some skim.
Nose is wheat, dough, tangerine, very light banana. The palate is bread and lemon rind. After a few minutes, the banana and clove notes of the traditional weisse show up, though fairly subdued.
It’s uncomplicated but refreshing. Sometimes on a warm day, you just want a cold one. This is for those times.
