Pours a somewhat muddy brown color with a light tan head. Decent retention and good lacing.
The nose has a nice bit of underlying earth and pepper. Some spicy dryness and faint bit of cherries and skin. Light tartness coming through. Flavor really nice with an underlying tartness throughout. Cherry character and some very light general fruitiness. Some spiciness in the background. Dark malt character helps carry things through.
Body is medium with good carbonation. Lightly tart finish. Smooth body. Quite nice.

At the 2014 Goat Races. Pours a dark amber, off white head. The flavor is fruits, pepper, yeasty. The aroma is the same. The finish is peppery, yeasty, a tad sweet. Medium in body, a bit thick. Not bad at all. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - SEP 10, 2013
On tap at brewpub. Pours a clear coppery amber color with a two finger off-white bubbly head that quickly settled to a thin layer. Aroma was fairly fruity, mostly berries, slightly vinous and earthy, floral hop notes with mild maltiness and a bit of yeast. The initial taste was a light hoppy ale, mixed with an almost pepper like spiciness that continued on to a nice rounded out light grain fed base. Fairly crisp and dry, lightish body with ample carbonation.

Draft: Poured a dark red/brown with a nice head. The aroma was apples, banana, sugary malts and vanilla. The flavor was vanilla, sugar, beets, banana, and malts. Overall, a little too complex and not overly balanced. Tasty nonetheless.
