Pours a cloudy golden with a huge and lasting head - nice, zesty, spicy aroma of lemon, orange peel, white pepper and yeasty, slightly barnyardy farmhouse qualities - soft carbonation in the mouthfeel - very spicy, with light, citrusy sweetness - finish of belgian yeast and a hint of candi sugar - a decent american saison. Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aromas of yeast, lemon, and orange peel. Pours a hazy pale yellow with lots of very fine sediment and a moderate bubbled white head. Flavors of yeast, apple, and banana with a lightly flowery and spicey finish. Prickly carbonation stings the palate and is a real drawback. puzzl (3264) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 3, 2006
Bready, ethanol aroma, slighty earthy and grassy. Huge head on the pour, cloudy gold. Lots of bitter hops, mushroom, earthy bready funk the flavor. Very nice. Little spice. A solid saison. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 1, 2006

RBSG 06. Clear pale with a big white head. Floral, peppery, peach aroma. Moderately sweet with bread and corriander. Medium body with soft carbonation. hopscotch (11434) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 20, 2006
Bottle... Hazy yellow ale with a huge, frothy, white head. Terrific retention. Spicy, breadsy nose with banana, pale and fuzzy fruit esters, coriander phenol and dough. Sweet, fruity flavor up front, then gently bitter, slightly pungent and spicy on the backside. Medium-bodied and creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finishes a touch tangy then fairly dry. Without the cage, my bottle would’ve opened itself. Feisty! hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2006
deep golden with a very large frothy off white head. A good amount of carbonation. aroma is pronounced with lots of tart lemon, citrus, spicy and earthy. Taste is tart citrus, and spices all over the palate, very dry, with lingering spicy notes. a nice suprise, as i bought this on a whim. Jayb0 (1218) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - AUG 7, 2006
US breweries are starting to out-belgian belgium. An amazing number of good to great belgian style beers being made in the US. Sly fox’s saison is a winner. Even at the end of a pretty good drinking session this beer came through fresh, lively and spicy. A nice finish to the evening. (Thanks Pete) jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - AUG 5, 2006
RBSG 2006 Grand Tasting. Clear deep golden with a white head. Caramel and grassy hops in the nose. Flavor has notes of pale brewing malt, grass, honey, hay, spiciness and some caramel. Medium body with a dry, spritzy mouthfeel. Enjoyable stuff.
