Can to mug, the appearance was a burnt copper/slight amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Messy lace.
The aroma had some toffee/caramel malt cake-like quality. Some grassy hops, light leather, touch of floral and dried leaves came about.
The flavor was moderately sweet and dry maltiness punching the aftertaste with a little bit of floral. Finish was dry, floral and semi-sweet.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt low, but good, I expected that. ABV cues up appropriately.

Tap. Pours a clear light amber body with a small wispy beige head. The nose is sweet with toasty and husky malt, a little toffee, light leafy English hops. A little too sweet on the flavor for my taste in the style. Very light bitterness on the finish. Draft at Beer Run, 8/18/14. Pours a clear red with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, dark fruits, earthy hops. The taste is toffee, caramel, earthy hops, dark fruits. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served a medium red colored body with a white head. The head fades fast leaving only a slight amount of lacing.
Smell – The nose is rather light. There is however a bit of sweet caramel and a little roasted malt breadiness in the nose.
Taste – The taste is quite sweet of caramel up front. As the taste advances some more bready maltiness works its way into the taste and subdues a bit of the sweetness. There is a little bit of citrus flavor that then works it way into the taste, with the taste then ending with a very light roasty flavor, not much, but it mixes well with the sweet breadiness and light citrus.
Mouthfeel – A little on the lighter side, yet very fitting for the sweetness and flavor of the brew. This coupled with a moderate level of carbonation make it very easy to drink.
Overall – Easy drinking with a nice sweeter flavor. A session brew to enjoy at the pub with some good friends.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel and toffee. Taste, to my mind, was OK, but something was slightly off. This beer lacked that special something that I like in Irish ales. On tap at the Coney. Very mild nose, light caramel and brewed tea; astringent tang note. Deep coppery amber clear with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Mild flavor with light astringency, nutty character. Brewed tea, herbal hop notes. Medium bitter finish and after.
