Pours a light golden yellow with a full ticker white head. The nose is of grain, a touch of a metallic note, grassy herbal hops and some sweet lemon. The flavor has some grainy malt with a fair bit of hop presence. Lemon, grassy and herbal hops with a lingering bitterness and a touch sugary overall. Highly carbonated and syrupy texture, a touch heavy. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 22, 2011
on tap at brewpub. trans gold, white ring for a head. Lots of wheat, lemon sweetness, pinesol. Flavor is dry, lightly bitter grass, lemon in back, bit of dough at front, finish is bigger and dry. Balanced, well done. Capa (3322) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - APR 2, 2011
Golden with an inch of white head. Grassy, earth, crisp aroma. Medium thin body. Flavor is soft but with a nice sharp finish. Grassy hops, light malt, earth, and a bit of almost saison style yeast (though that could be my imagination). Real nice kolsch. Generally I’m not a big Sly fan but this beer really shines. Draft at SFR during dinner last night. Poured canary with white clingy head into the SLy Fox 22 ounce tall glass. Nose was Prima Pilsy, a nice mix of pale malt, Saaz hops, caro syrupy honey notes, and criso spice. Tasted rich, crisp, pale malty up front wit the hops, fruit, and hops kicking in in perfect harmony, and a delcious finish. One of the best kolsched I have yet quaffed. Woirth chasing down.
