2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap. Black with off-white head. Sour fruits, acidic with some weird chemical taste. Light toasted grains with some ash. Mainly sour with light sweet touch and herbal bitter astringent finish. Light to medium bodied. Weird stuff, not really into it.
From tap at De Paas. Black with off-white head. Sour fruits, roasted, ash. Backlog from 2014/09/23. Svesse (8962) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 31, 2014
(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 20 Aug 2014) Dark brown colour with hints of ruby. Creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark rye bread, brown sugar and dried fruit. Malty, roasted taste with caramel, dark bread, brown sugar, raisins, prunes and a balanced spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one. Liquorice and sweet fennel like aroma. Very small head! Yeasty and oak (winebarrel) flavours. Dried red fruits and a nice anice touch. Malts and some bitter hops as well. Wide variety of flavours but well balanced. caesar (7398) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 13, 2014
Tap @ Becoloth, small sample, served in a kleintje pils glass. Clear dark brown color, frothy brown head, almost cola. Aroma is spicy, bit roast, anise, some dark bread. Bit sweet and spicy in taste. This is supposed to be a bottom-fermented clean dark lager, but instead they add spices and loads of sweetness to give the impression of a belgian double. Dont do that. deanso (10282) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - AUG 30, 2014
On tap @ the Paas.
Thin creamy off white head. Clear black pour. Quite tasty. Well made..

Draught @ Bar Becoloth, Boxtel. Dark brown color with a dark red glare coming through, medium sized dense beige head that lasts for quite a while and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is exactly what you would expect from a schwarzbier: very malty, lightly earthy. Taste malts, earthy, lightly sweet, a hint of caramel, raisins and liquorice. Decent body and carbonation. tricksta_p (5354) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - AUG 21, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2015 Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, some dark fruits. Flavour is roasty and caramel, pretty sweet. Finish is light bitterness. I quite enjoyed this one. kermis (14963) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 20, 2014
Draft at De Paas. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, malt, cola, light soy and toffee. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. dutchbeerpages (2439) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - AUG 20, 2014
Aroma has a lot of caramel. Come to think of it, this beer actually looks more like sweet or creme brulee stout than a schwarZ. But i am not complaining.
Tap at De Pintelier.
