2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ Croydonia, supplied by yours truly. The pour’s brown with a small head. The nose is brown bread, nuts, canned sweetened iced tea. The taste is strong rye, brown bread. Caramel. Some sweet toasted nut. Light body, just a touch of carbonation. Not terrible.

Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head which reduces to spotting.
Nose is bready malt, light smoke, biscuit, Soreen malt loaf.
Taste comprises sweet sweet brown sugars, dank brown bread dipped in a sugary solution, malt loaf, toffee backnotes.
Light body, no carbonation, flat as Anglia, sweet sugary finish.
One of the better Kvass’s I’ve encountered!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting - East Croydon. Big thanks to Jack for hunting down this kvass. Pours clear brown with a faint, filmy head. Sugary brown bread in the nose. Big sweet flavor with brown sugar, brown bread, sugar syrup. Light bodied with fine carbonation; a little syrupy. Sweet finish with more sugary bread, brown sugar and molasses. A decent example of the oft-misunderstood kvass style.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Kvass whale thanks to jackl.... It pours deep brown with a reddish hue and quickly dissipating head. The nose is sweet, caramel, cardboard and some bread...blah. The taste is damn sweet, caramel, burnt brown sugar, sweet bread and light earthiness with a sugary finish. Light body and moderate+ carbonation. Yes it’s sweet, but what was I expecting.... For a Kvass this is actually pretty good!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Medium brown head. Opaque black body goes deep brown at edges. Sugary honey and rye bread aroma with earthy spicy notes. Sweet honey and rye bread taste with chocolate and wax notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. No real aftertaste, but some earth. Complex and interesting. (1l PET bottle, Maxima, Vilnius.)

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, from an ethnic food store in Scunthorpe. Jet black, thin shortlived off white head and genle condition. Big bittersweet bready aroma with hints of fruit cake and coffee, liquorice and some yeasty herbal barnyard aromas. Initial bready sweetness in the mouth that quickly melts into a pleasant spicy bitterness that i would hesitate to call hoppy but fulfills a similar role. Quickly bready finish that lingers with a slightly tart fruity bitterness.
