Cask conditioned at Dave's. Bloody marvelous beer, lots of hops, lots of 'delicate aroma sensation on the tongue' whatever that is. Hey its just a great beer, see forum. Ungstrup (37560) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 5, 2004
An amber beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma is nicely hoppy. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, and aroma as well as bitter hops. A fine IPA. RichardWilding (201) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2004
Draught. Nice lacing left on the glass. This is a nice hoppy beer, with some sweet notes, perhaps caramel and toffee. Dry and bitter finish. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2006
1. Cask Handpump at the Station Buffet, Stalybridge 16/11/2001
Golden coloured with citurs aroma. Poured lively. Full hop finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Unicorn, Altrincham (JDW) 24/06/2003
Golden coloured slightly pale and hoppy. Some dryness in a malt finish. Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 23, 2002
Amber; black currant & hops on the nose; fruity (cherry, raspberry) with some lively hop character. Fresh and quaffable, like all Smiles I’ve had. And they said there was no good reason to visit Bristol. I’ll tell you, between the cask ciders and the Coronation Tap (Cheddar Valley is highly recommended) and Smiles, Bristol ain’t so bad after all.

Cask Handpump. Clear orange color, short head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, grainy. Bitter taste and palate. Nuffield (4171) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - MAY 29, 2002
Relatively light in color, with a mild aroma. Most distinguished by a citric finish--not as pleasant as could be. Good palate however. (On tap, King’s Arms, Oxford) caesar (7133) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 19, 2004
Clear orange color, short head. Aroma is moderately hoppy, grainy. Bitter taste and palate. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 15, 2004
On tap at Britannia, London: Nice little medium foamy head o the deep orange colored brew. Leaving laces on the glass. Not much of a nose. Toffee and butterscotch taste, but ok, soft and silky first, then dry bitter finish.
