Cask, Gardener’s Arms, Oxford. Deep brown with a light tan cap of dense, sticky foam. Carameled apple aroma with a touch of lively tartness. Warm caramel flavor, round and malty. A bit of toasted marshmellow. Just a touch of earthy hops. A wholesome and satisfying pint, just the thing for sipping in front of the fire here at the snug Gardener’s Arms. Mine just has the word Smiles in big letters and says "English Ale" and "Bottled Cask Ale" in small letters underneath. Its the same strength and have a similar description so I’m pretty sure its the same beer. That is farking annoying. Speakof of annoying, this is the kind of english beerr I don’t like: over the top fruity. The aroma and flavor are dominated by plumbs, raisin, pear, toffee, and caramel. You can’t even taste bit of hops. Its a flat, reddish brown with little head. This beer does nothing for me. Maybe if it were hand pumped in England or something.

Bottle. Poured a medium size tan head that was mostly lasting, sparse lacing, fine-small sized bubbles, softly carbonated, transparent, and a ruby hue. Aroma was malty, roasty and sweet. This bottled brew marked best before HUG01 and labeled L09080G1 poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a softly carbonated transparent caramel brown colored body. The aroma was mild and malty. The mouth feel was dry and semi sweet in the finish. It was OK brew but I didn’t enjoy it much.
