Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aromas of malt, orange, dark fruits, yeast, toffee. Taste is malty, light bitter, bready, toffee, chocolate. kraddel (8372) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JAN 23, 2017
Pours clear, caramely brown. Extremely big white head that stays very damn stable as well. Smell is very sweet, sugar, earthy, caramel. Taste is also sweet, caramel, earthy. Seems very oxidized, even though its a few months before best by date. Not bad, but a bit too simplistic sweet. Also, very thin mouthfeel. imdownthepub (14791) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2016
Bottled, 330ml from The Bottle Shop, Bruges, West Flanders, Belgium. Chestnut brown with off white head, volcanic on opening which stirred up the settled yeast. I had been looking forward to this one but I found it to be quite overly sweet and candied. There is a pear drop yeasty character, sweet malts but still a touch musty. Just okay really. Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown with a lasting dense bubbly off white head. Aroma of nuts, caramel, some forest fruits, brown sugar, liquorice, some cardboard with grassy and pine notes. Taste is of nuts, hints of chocolate, fig, oats, caramel and slight bitter notes on the finish. Fizzy foamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. 77ships (9952) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 13, 2015
330 ml. bottle sampled. Purchased @ Willems & Zoon. BBF JUL2016. BIG GUSHER. Deep copper amber, big collapsing tanned head. Nose is hugely metallic, watery with rotting old herbs, stale lavender, touch metallic caramel, not too good. Taste is manageable but far from optimal, heavily herbal, big cloves, metallic, finish is wet leaves, stale kitchen spices,… Overly fizzy & empty. Faint licorice & varnish. Too flawed.

Clear dark brown color, tan head. Light fruity, some alcohol scent. Sweet taste, some alcohol. Fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Grainy, alcohol aftertaste.
Brownish body with a giant beige head. Very flat aroma. And so is the taste. A real disappointment.

(Smiske Bruin) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a big tulip, ABV 7%
Light gusher. Huge beige head as expected from the gushing, very thick of course and with that size retention couldn’t be any less than good. Colour of the beer itself is an amber brown one.
Aroma of toffee, grains, very faint chocolate in between, caramel, some red fruits.
Taste follows, red fruits, grains, nuts, a light sourness.
Medium thin body, very high carbonation.
Nothing special. Alengrin (5451) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
The second beer developed by Johan Brandt’s new brewery, with thick but quickly collapsing, opening, yellowish white head and ’autumn-like’ bronze colour with rusty brown glow, clear but hazy with deposit. Strong aroma of ripe plums, apple sauce, candied figs, tea, chocolate, coffee grounds, nutmeg, dried leaves, clay, dry sherry. Fruity sweetness in the taste, a bit reminiscent of figs in ’jenever’, spicy accents, chocolatey malts but everything is unfortunately drenched in a wry phenolic sauce; in the finish, a grapefruity hop bitterness sets in as well as badly hidden, somewhat astringent alcohol. Flawed.
