Had this on Tap at Red Hugh’s in Augusta, GA.... Pretty decent brew... small but frothy head, nice lacing, a mahogoany brown color. Has a nice slightly sweet oat and nut taste. Not as sweet as a Nut Brown ale.... Not a super strong taste, but quite nice to have a pitcher of

It’s really a great drinking beer. Refreshing and clean. Some small bitterness gives it a tiny bite but overall a balanced beer. It’ll be a go to session beer for sure.

I really liked this one. Went down smooth with a somewhat malty finish. Reddish brown.

the one and only irish red ale, you can find it everywhere in irland. i tried a lot different local red ales but always ended with a smithwicks because it just tastes best.

330ml bottle @ home. Clear amber-brown with a thin off-white head. Nose is caramel, toast, nuts. Flavors are similar with smooth, caramel malt up front. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth malt finish with some slight bitterness on the very end. Perfectly suitable easy drinking ale. Probably a few points higher if you’re drinking it in an Irish pub (doesn’t have to be in Ireland).

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy red-brown with a small, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted and caramel malts. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, grain and a hint of nuts with a dry, slightly bitter finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Subtle aroma of toasted nuts and dried fruit. Clear red-brown beer with minimal head. Initial sweetness is balanced by clean, long, and dry finish. This is not a bitter beer. Body is medium-light and soft. Very easy to drink and very good with food.

From old tasting notes. Clear amber orange color. Big rocky beige head. Toasted malt aroma with a hint of butterscotch in the backdrop. Somewhat dry flavor has a bubbly mouthfeel. Light bitter finish. Lacks real body or complexity.

Une bière rousse assez agréable, peu de mousse, gout de malt avec légère amertume.

6/24/17 (Chicago). 16 oz draft pour into standard pint glass. $5.50 @ NW Vaughn’s. Dark copper pour, light tan head and carbonation. Light, sweet malt aroma. Mild sweet malt and chocolate taste. Light mouth feel and texture, minimal carbonation. Overall good offering.
