I love this Ale. Reminiscent of the smell of old Dublin... I’d have it for breakfast if only my fiancée would let me. kwbrq1 (1) - Belle Chasse, Louisiana, USA - MAY 23, 2008 does not count
I have travelled the world and have not found a better ale than this Irish classic.
But my rating is based on fresh tap tastings in actual Irish pubs. mzurface (1) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - OCT 5, 2008 does not count
Best fucking ale on the planet. Period. It has the most full and robust taste of any ale around. The aroma after a Smithwicks has just been poured is the most amazingly heavenly scent ever in the history of mankind. Also, sidenote: the Blacksmith might be the single greatest creation in the history of the world. 1gandalf (12) - mason, Iowa, USA - JAN 26, 2009
Another personal favorite. nice balanced taste, fairly creamy head, nice lace. Robust smooth coffie notes some caramel and a good malty flavor. A nice earthy Ale. glennous (27) - - SEP 27, 2013
My favorite beer. Great all-around. Good taste, good head, good appearance. Best when on tap, but the bottle is still great!

Visited Ireland for the first time and fell in love with this beer. Couldn’t get enough of it. Haven’t had it in a bottle... as far as on tap, fresh Ireland, I would rate is as my number 1 beer there. Anzacaine (2) - HUNGARY - MAR 15, 2015 does not count
I love red ales and this is my favourite. It’s smooth but not creamy, Has a great colour and head and has a beautiful taste.
