Good flavor and smooth drinking. Sorta a cross between an ale and strout. Best to drink a bit warm, meaning not chilled...and definatly not in a chilled mug. Cold makes it more watery. I like it.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2017 Draft. It poured an amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was malty caramel with a light bitter taste.

From Feb 2006 Poured from bottle a deep amber with a good head of foam that dissipated slowly The smell is a light note of malt and pretty much nothing else. The taste is a mix of malt and faint hops....not at all exciting nor complex but certainly not offensive. I'll let my next bottle get closer to room temp and if there are any noteworthy changes in my opinion of this brew, I'll edit my review. As it stands now, this just lacks the flavour that I was hoping for in a UK session ale. Too bad.

On tap, Jamusha wedding. Deep ruddy brown colour, bright, white foam. Quite smooth, hints of malty sweetness, caramel, with a surprisingly dry finish that makes it wonderfully drinkable. Very smashable, I enjoyed it.

It’s really a great drinking beer. Refreshing and clean. Some small bitterness gives it a tiny bite but overall a balanced beer. It’ll be a go to session beer for sure.

I really liked this one. Went down smooth with a somewhat malty finish. Reddish brown.

the one and only irish red ale, you can find it everywhere in irland. i tried a lot different local red ales but always ended with a smithwicks because it just tastes best.

330ml bottle @ home. Clear amber-brown with a thin off-white head. Nose is caramel, toast, nuts. Flavors are similar with smooth, caramel malt up front. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth malt finish with some slight bitterness on the very end. Perfectly suitable easy drinking ale. Probably a few points higher if you’re drinking it in an Irish pub (doesn’t have to be in Ireland).

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy red-brown with a small, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of roasted and caramel malts. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, grain and a hint of nuts with a dry, slightly bitter finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Subtle aroma of toasted nuts and dried fruit. Clear red-brown beer with minimal head. Initial sweetness is balanced by clean, long, and dry finish. This is not a bitter beer. Body is medium-light and soft. Very easy to drink and very good with food.
