Sampled at BAM Fest. This is a big beer but it still retains a smoothness to it. The ABV is there but doesn’t bash you over the head. Lovely aroma of spirits in this one. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Black in color with a khaki head. Rich vanilla aroma, lots of bourbon, moderate roast, and plenty of chocolate. Some dark fruit notes, a hint of molasses, and some caramel. Tastes really nice. Good malt sweetness, bourbon, and vanilla. Mild booze, some dark fruits, chocolate, roasted malt, and molasses. A hint of licorice and some nice omcharred oak notes. On tap. Pours with a pitch black hued body with a deep brown head that lasts surprisingly well. Aromas are of rich fig, dark fruits, raisins, nutty, chocolate, rich bourbon and oak vanillin. Fig newtons. Flavors are of chocolate, quite warming, ashy, big bourbon, flint. Low carbonation. Warming.
