Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head and a maple and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a nice dose of bourbon. Starts sweet, but quickly bitters with a nice vanilla bourbon finish. A great sipper. bhensonb (15353) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 3, 2016
Bottle with CB for Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA, but memory says it’s from Marcus. Memory! Meh! Pours very dark copper with a beige head.Aroma of caramel and sweet toffee. Near full bodied at least. Flavor is bourbon/treacle/toffee/brown sugar. Which does not do justice to the flavor. It is very strongly flavored. Not dry of course, and only moderately bitter, but it is really flavorful and tasty. Savage_Night (434) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUN 17, 2016

Almost clear deep red beer, good pale tan head. Big bourbon nose. Palate is surprisingly light and has mild minerally crispness. Big bourbon - spicy. Toffee - cream malts underneath. Trace of vanilla oak. Fruity bourbon before a light dry finish. Warming afterglow. Pretty full on bourbon! Hides the abv reasonably well.
