Almost clear deep red beer, good pale tan head. Big bourbon nose. Palate is surprisingly light and has mild minerally crispness. Big bourbon - spicy. Toffee - cream malts underneath. Trace of vanilla oak. Fruity bourbon before a light dry finish. Warming afterglow. Pretty full on bourbon! Hides the abv reasonably well.

500 ml bottle shared with drsordr. Pours a clear copper color with a small to medium off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, smooth dessert like beer, hint of wood and a general spice character, some booze comes through, solid enough.

Draft at Tustin Brewing. Marked as the "2010" version. Pours a cola brown with minimal white to tan head. Aroma is caramel, oak chips, acorns (odd) and some vanilla. Taste was a very well rounded caramel, barrel, malty balanced barley wine. No hops. Nice barley wine but couldnt really deal with it on a 90 degree November afternoon.
