Bottle at home ... From my GBBF haul i think... if it was a trade i appologise and please put me right ... deep black ... thin tan lacing ... big sweet meaty roast malt ... little chocolate nose ... again sweet with a big resiny pine hop front ... lovely solid chocolate malt roast background ... lovley ... soft mouthfeel ... a sipper but delightful.. even if again its a bit hop heavy for me tastes. omhper (25805) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2006
Bottled. Black, brief head. Extreme grapefruit aroma. Under the hop detived flavours of peach, lychee and grapefruit lies tar and licorice. The roasty malt plays second fiddle to th ehops, and in a blind test I could have mistalen this for an IIPA. Very bitter finish. Soft and relatively drinkable. Offering an interesting twist on the style, and a wonderful beer. madmitch76 (25801) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 29, 2011

Opaque black stout with a thin chocolate head. Palate is silky smooth and soft with an almost minty coolness. Start is sweet, almost sugary. This turns in to a raspberry - blackcurrant undertone with malt on top. Segues seamlessly in to a warming finish with mild coffee and a faint bitter hop finish. Keeping parallel with all this are subtle chocolate and brandy tones. A superior RIS!
