UPDATED: FEB 12, 2017 Bottle as "Finestkind IPA". Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is grapefruit, piney. Taste is grapefruit, pale malts, nice residual sweetness. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Not bad. googleimage83 (172) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 16, 2017
"Finestkind" bottle from the Beer Store. Peachy honey pour, fairly clear and lustrous; faintly sandy head. Aroma is big toffee malt up front, with peach, plum, slightly overripe tropical fruit following. Taste is where this beer shines - toffee sweetness up front, but not cloying. Fresh, flowery and piney hops kick in fairly early on and stick around for most of the drink. Sticky palate works for the flavour profile. While I prefer my IPA’s a little less malt-heavy, this is a solid, easy-drinking brew. Freaky_tiki (1398) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 8, 2017
Can from LCBO. Interesting to scroll through a few pages of the reviews & see the split in opinions. Even more interesting to read the reviews from 10 years ago. Maybe this was a hop bomb back in the day but now its more of a lawn mower ipa. Bit of a clunky old school ipa in my opinion: more emphasis on ham-fisted pine bitterness than hop expressiveness. You’ll recognize this interpretation of the style the minute you taste it of you’re an ipa aficionado. By no means is this bad. I like it. It just feels dated (which is ok). 35 cl. bottle @ Home.
Aroma: not very intense aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, fruit, tangerine, citrus.
Appearance: light amber-golden yellow color with under average head thickness. Slightly off-white head with good retention and medium Brussels’ lacing. Quite hazy beer.
Taste: low sweetness, medium-to-high bitterness, low sourness. Good and intense flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruits, passion fruit, fruits, citrus, maybe orange peel.
Palate: light body, watery texture, average carbonation, very long, dry and bitter finish of grapefruit, tropical fruits, passion fruit and fruits.
Overall: very good appearance, not very intense but good aromas. Quite intense and very lingering flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruits, passion fruit and fruits. Very drinkable and refreshing despite of its high bitterness. Good IPA.

473ml tallboy from LCBO. Pours a huge frothy off-white head that sticks around for quite awhile and has a slightly hazy golden orangey appearance. Fairly excessive carbonation. Aromas are orangey, citrus hops, notes of floral and hints of bready malts. Flavours are fruity, mostly of the citrus variety. Some subtle hints of grapefruit in the finish, very light. Some bready malts as well as faint caramel malt. Medium bodied. Great retention. A little bit of bitterness on the palate, maybe expected a bit more. Pretty easy to drink, smooth and a bit creamy. 473ml can. Pours a hazy pale gold with an off-white head. On the nose, almost sugary icing-like notes, with resinous hops and some tropical fruit buried underneath. Taste wise, medium sweetness, orange peel, grapefruit, and mineral notes that head into soapy hops, floral notes, lots of citrus pithy bitterness, and lighter fruit notes that linger in the finish. It’s decent enough to buy again. Gluepot (752) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2016
Far from a hop bomb, this IPA is engaging, fresh and layered enough to be among the top tier. A white head on an amber/straw body. The nose is features fresh citrus and tropical fruit with a touch of honey. Hops are there for sure, with grapefruit, lemon, melon and kiwi fruit jumping to mind. A honey biscuit taste to the malt and maybe a hint of toffee underneath round it out nicely. Solid carbonation keeps it lively and the slightly slick mouth feel adds to the satisfaction.
