Brownish pour, goldish head. Aroma is loaded with sweet bourbon, vanilla, raisins, oak, booze...mmmmm. Flavor is sweet, bourbon, vanilla, brown sugar, woody notes...damn good beer! dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Huge thanks to daknole! Bottle pours murky amber brown with a khaki head. Sweet bourbon soaked caramel, rye bread, vanilla, raisins, oak, and brown sugar all rounded out with some earthy hops. Overall body is moderate to full, moderately sweet and finishes lightly bitter. I think i’m in love.... AirForceHops (7675) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 24, 2010
22 oz bottle shared this with liveFREEorRYE on 10/ 23/ 2010. I’m really glad I made the stop at Julio’s in Westboro, MA. Aroma is a woody bourbon barrel smell. A ton of head that just wont go away, with ridiculous lacing, literally just covers the glass. A butter popcorn fragrance. Up front is a bourbon wood taste(possibly oak wood) a raisin flavor in the center. The finish tastes exactly like movie theater butter popcorn. Has a nice creamy mouth feel that is not too thick yet very rich. A truly unique beer that should be sipped and enjoyed SLOWLY. We let this sit about 20 minutes as it warms the bourbon barrel boozy taste comes through and gets stronger. A complex beer that I could rate 10 times and get different flavors every time I drink it. A very good beer to hold and cherish. Put one in your cellar! I’m going to get a few more bottles and let them age. wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - JUN 21, 2010

Bomber pour into snifter..darkish crimson red like color..slight head rests on top..pretty active carbonation..nice looking beer..intrigued from the start..aroma is pleasing consisting of bourbon..vanilla..cream soda..wow..complex nose..mouthfeel is very good on this..smooth..creamy..silky texture..slight alcohol warmth on finish..palate has most of the same flavor as the nose with perhaps a touch of molasses and brown sugar..gets even better as it warms..this is a fine offering and a really good sipper on a winter evening...one of the better less than 10 percent abv barrel aged beers..very impressed with this..wish i had picked up a few more bottles of this from julios..hard to not like this unless you really dislike bourbon aged stuff..very good..

A- Pours a dark brown color with hints of copper and a 1.5 finger, tan head.
S- Bourbon, rye, vanilla, oak.
T- Caramel, raisin, fig, bourbon and deep rye notes.
M- Thick with medium carbonation.
D- Extremely drinkable and just got better as it warmed. Incredible take on a rye beer ... wish I had more. Joel (114) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 4, 2015
I wish I could still get my hands on this and I’m hopeful that someday they will brew this again. Pours murky brown with a thick white head. Aromas of caramel and vanilla. Complex and flavorful… rye, bourbon, caramel, toffee, raisins. Followed up with only a slight hops finish. Very unique flavors, only slightly sweet. Seemed stronger than 8%. Very good! marcus (10560) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 25, 2016
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a transient fizzy head and a strong rye whiskey aroma. There is a full-bodied treacle and anise flavor with lots of tasty whiskey. This 2010 beer has aged very nicely. VikingHammer (506) - Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 4, 2010
22 oz bottle, Pour dark brown with some red highlights and a nice off white head. Moderate lacing in my De Dolle tulip. Aroma is amazing. Some herbs, bourbon, fresh rye bread, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Full bodied for a rye ale with just the right amount of carbonation. Smooth and very well balanced. Amazing beer. Going to get more. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours opaque copper amber with a tan head. Nose is orange, sugar, rye, whiskey, vanilla, bourbon, caramel, and slight grain. Flavor is similar with lots of bourbon, vanilla, whiskey, caramel, rye, and sweetness. Very unique, barreled rye beer. Medium body with lingering bourbon and vanilla. Extremely palatable for a rye beer.
