22oz Bottle shared at RIFT meeting. Big bourbony nose over some spicy rich grain. God this is good. A solid show of barrel over nice rich, spicy, malty complex grain base. Clean, bright and fresh. I love the barrel character and integration. The barrels and the booze balance the sweetness nicely for a refined, complex sipper. Excellent. hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - AUG 19, 2011
Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours a murky chestnut brown with a finger of beige head. Aroma is some bourbon a bit of rye and maybe just a touch of vanilla. Taste follows the nose. Good beer. Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - DEC 20, 2011

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2011 Dark walnut, mahogany pour. Aroma is straight up vanilla, caramel, bourbon cracker. Flavor is heavily influenced by bourbon, some vanilla, grain, some rye grain, sharp, but smoothed out by the bourbon. Incredibley good. DAMN this shit is good mcox90 (2119) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 26, 2010
22 oz bottle. Pours a ruddy opaque mahogany with a 1/2" beige head. Aroma is a rich blend of rye whiskey, wet oak, earth, dark fruit and malt. Palate is thick, heavy and sticky. Also, quite warming. Pour this baby into a snifter, then just lean back, relax, and enjoy. Flavor is dominated by bourbon flavors, but nicely blended with a malt and fruit and even some candy hints. Very well done. tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 16, 2010
A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Would get again fo sho. Really surprised me, The base beer really shines through, loads of spiciness, great body, not very thin at all, mild barrel flavor, really an outstanding beer.

Bomber. The pour yields a clear, deep and dark crimson to cherrywood colored body. A small, creamy, steadfast head of khaki colored foam gives dense, pronounced sheets of lacing that cling hard to the glass. The nose, while admittedly a bit boozy, shows mouth watering notes of caramel, toasted toffee, dates, and bright cherries. Vanilla is pervasive throughout, offering a woody, spicy element that seems plays nicely with the caraway seed and crusty rye bread notes. Flavors are just as nicely constructed. Toasted toffee and caramel are rich and decadent, but not overly sugary, seemingly lightened by charred, spicy oak and soft, semi-dry cherry elements. The yeast profile seems very bready, hinting at both rye and pumpernickel. Medium-full in body, with soft yet persistent carbonation and a pleasing, semi-dry finish, the palate manages to satisfy from a weight standpoint while avoiding any annoying stickiness. Being a huge fan of Sazerac Rye, Buffalo Trace, and Smuttynose, I was salivating at the thought of this brew. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. Excellent beer. Bomber shared by Daknole – thanks Dak! Pours hazy amber with a thin tan head. The nose is bourbon, vanilla, light wood and sweet malt. The taste is rye, malt, oaky vanilla and dark fruits with a nice, not overly done bourbon finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff.
