Sample at Julio’s Spring Beer Fest (disclaimer - memory somewhat blurred after perhaps a few too many samples) One of the better bourbon barrel ales I have tasted. zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2010
cotton candy arouma. spicy, mint, caramel candy sweetness. apple and peach fruitiness darkened by some bourbon booziness. Finishes dry, bitter and vineous. kramer (6908) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 11, 2010
22 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a small wispy beige head. Nice earthy and spicy rye nose with some complementary hops over a slightly sweet caramel and bourbon base. The flavor is very spicy with a hefty bourbon laced finish bringing on some vanilla and alcohol. I don’t especially dig the barrel character of this one, seems to be a bit overdone. Mouthfeel is fizzy and lively, helping cut the heavy body a little bit. Not bad, but a touch too boozy and alcoholic. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2010
22 oz bottle. Hazy brown with a foamy beige head. Nose is candi, rye and bourbon. Medium body with a buzz. Taste is grape, caramel and yeast finishing dry with bourbon and bitter rye. Quite lively for a barrel aged beer. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 2, 2010

Bottle, huge thanks to Skyview. Hazy reddish brown pour, with thin, dissipating white head. Aroma has big bourbon, whiskey, rye and a touch of booze. Taste up front is sweet bourbon and vanilla, leading into the rye whiskey and spice, with a slightly sweet and boozy finish. Very complex and good beer. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2010
Amber ruby red, off white cover. Aroma is spicy rye, caramel, bourbon, vanilla oak. Taste is more bourbon, vanilla, light spiciness. bvc (1244) - Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2010
22oz capped, thanks Alex. Clear amber brown with eggshell white head. Malty, apple, caramel, fig newtons, lighty boozey and some phenols. Bready tart apples and raisins, white grapes, creamy smooth body with some tobacco notes on the end. Well made and enjoyable until it warms when the booze pops out. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2011
