on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Nice aroma of malt and burlap. Clear amber brown color, off-white head that drops to a light cover, hanging strands of lace. Taste is strong semi-sweet malt that gathers more sweeteners and mild carbonation on the swallow, then light bittering leading to a finish that gains alcohol warmth as it lingers. Big and full of alcohol but not complex, satisfying as a Brandy. Almost too much for my palate. Zuko (17) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - MAY 21, 2016
Pours a barely translucent copper from growler with a very thin light head. Smells and tastes quite sweet with some butterscotch, almost too sweet though. Otherwise it’s a mediocre barley wine. Does NOT taste it’s alcohol content solidfunk (9407) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - NOV 14, 2015
Very nice stuff. Pours brown with decent head. A touch of wine and oak and some citrus. Everything well integrated. Light sweet and sour finish. Tastes much lighter than alcohol level. Tap at Churchkey. GenDV138 (7699) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - NOV 12, 2015
4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. 2010 vintage. Ruby brown with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, butterscotch. Tastes of dark fruit, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, light oak. Medium body with a dry finish. Joelly3d (48) - Kentucky, USA - JUL 20, 2014
I am very impressed with this beer. It is reddish golden in color. I had it in tap and it was mildly carbonated, which I prefer. The head is small an white, but is quite aromatic. For the money, this beer has a huge ABV at over 10%. Somewhat sweet with a hoppy aftertaste. Reminds me of what I love in a Belgian Quad. A strong and delicious beer... Added to favorites!

Aroma: Dark fruit, alcohol, wine must
Taste: Well blended vanilla, oak, hint of banana/light fruit
Overall: Extremely tasty, and the ABV is well hidden
Draft at Brewvival. 2010 version. Hazy dark golden amner color, small off white head. Aroma of vanilla, butterscotch. Taste is rich caramel, vanilla, subtle booze. Very tasty.
