Luna Moth is the name of our next Short Batch. Its a hoppy saison, that features El Dorado hops, the only hop with its own website (seriously, its, as a dry hop. El Dorado infuses stone fruit, watermelon and pear characteristics when used as a dry-hop. Yum. Why a hoppy saison? Pretty simple, really... Smuttynose only gets one pitch of saison yeast each year for our Farmhouse Ale (shipping on May 28). We wanted to do a second beer with this unique yeast and we had just gotten a whole shed load of El Dorado pellets. Everything really came together nicely with this one and we think youll enjoy it.

Pale yellow, 2 finger head. Loads of peaches and sweet sugars and a bit of leather funk. Taste is clementines and a very dry finish. taste isnt as sweet as the nose. Chewy for sure with sticky resinous qualities

Superb saison. Imbued with more flavor than the typical saison, and further seems to be spicier than the usual saison. The hoppiness plays a secondary role here, imparting a slight bitterness and perhaps dryness at the end that are unusual for saisons. Recommended! A- ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ RnH. Aroma is big lichi and grape followed by grass. Appears a glowing apricot with a small white head and minimal lacing. Taste includes notes of pear, apple, very subtle hop bitterness and citrus zest on a crisp finish. Enjoyable light carbonation with fruit flavors lingering.

750 shared by Nick... thanks! This stuff is expensive! $18 for the bottle, yikes. Pours a brilliant yellow gold that is slightly opaque with a great head. Smell is tiger piss and very slight citrus. Tastes much better than it smells with some hoppy character to blend with the citrus and slight spice. Not worth the steep price tag.

750ml corked and caged, bottle 785/912. From Julios Liquors. Poured a bright, clear gold color with a solid 2 finger white head that took its sweet time settling down. Nice fruity aroma, strawberry and pear, with notes of Belgian yeast. Perhaps a touch of grape must. Sweet, yet slightly funky flavor. Light and dry on the tongue with active carbonation. This was a refreshing, delicious brew, although I was expecting a bit more for the price. $17.99. Ive had many bottles of beer that I enjoyed as much, for far less.

Bottle from Berts Pours a strikingly clear medium golden color with a huge bubbly white head that shows great retention and lace. Aromas of light sweet sugar and honey with pear and apple notes along with some yeasty phenols and a hint of tropical fruit. The flavor is light and sweet with a nice hit of earthy yeasty phenols. Lots of light fruit flavors play nicely with a moderate level of hop bite. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet fruity tart mouthfeel. Nice brew, Im glad I got to try it but seriously smuttynose at a retail of almost 18 dollars Im finding it very hard to continue supporting your brewery.
