Superb saison. Imbued with more flavor than the typical saison, and further seems to be spicier than the usual saison. The hoppiness plays a secondary role here, imparting a slight bitterness and perhaps dryness at the end that are unusual for saisons. Recommended! A-

Bottle at the Gunnar Tasting at Craft Clerkenwell, care of Leighton. Golden amber white head. Nose is Saison yeast, funk, herbal, ripe soft fruit, grain musky, green apple. Taste is fruity, Brett yeast, herbal, grapefruit citrousy, acidic. Really nice. teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - JAN 23, 2014
75cl bottle at Gunnar tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large soapy white head. Aroma is quite sweet and fruity with pear and pineapple notes. Yeast, grass and light spices. Taste is a tad sweet with good funky notes. More pear and pineapple, grass and earth tones. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes quite dry and zesy. Very interesting and good. johnnnniee (4434) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 4, 2013

Pours a strikingly clear medium golden color with a huge bubbly white head that shows great retention and lace. Aromas of light sweet sugar and honey with pear and apple notes along with some yeasty phenols and a hint of tropical fruit. The flavor is light and sweet with a nice hit of earthy yeasty phenols. Lots of light fruit flavors play nicely with a moderate level of hop bite. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet fruity tart mouthfeel. Nice brew, I’m glad I got to try it but seriously smuttynose at a retail of almost 18 dollars I’m finding it very hard to continue supporting your brewery.
Pouring at BCTC. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Super spicy citrus, musk, touches of sweet caramel. Medium-bodied, spicy, wheat dries out nicely. Musk, wheat, gentle musky bitterness on the finish. mcox90 (2145) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 8, 2013
750ml corked and caged, bottle 785/912. From Julio’s Liquors. Poured a bright, clear gold color with a solid 2 finger white head that took it’s sweet time settling down. Nice fruity aroma, strawberry and pear, with notes of Belgian yeast. Perhaps a touch of grape must. Sweet, yet slightly funky flavor. Light and dry on the tongue with active carbonation. This was a refreshing, delicious brew, although I was expecting a bit more for the price. $17.99. I’ve had many bottles of beer that I enjoyed as much, for far less. On tap @ RnH. Aroma is big lichi and grape followed by grass. Appears a glowing apricot with a small white head and minimal lacing. Taste includes notes of pear, apple, very subtle hop bitterness and citrus zest on a crisp finish. Enjoyable light carbonation with fruit flavors lingering. Appearance: Pours a bright cloudy amber gold. beautiful head that subsides to a cap.
Aroma: Sweet citrus note, spicy yeast a slight toasted malt.
Taste: Spicy belgian yeast, banana esters, juicy citrus.
Mouthfeel: Prickly fizz juicy full bodied.
Overall: I love the concept and subsequent execution. I’ve never been a fan of the “Belgian IPA” because its usually overly sweet/malty for my liking. The dank nosed Saison however is right up my alley, with the bouquet of hops and dry earthiness of the saison yeast character.
