(draft) Tan head with nice lacing atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, some roast, light earthy. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some earthiness, light anise. Smooth medium body. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2008
Tap at Ginger Man. Deep ruby-tinted brown-black beer topped by thick tan foam. Aroma is loaded with a nice coffee/cocoa aroma. Flavour is also quite nice. Softly herbal/spicy with a nice roasty maltiness and a touch of minerally bitterness. It’s quite thin on the back but it’s pretty solid up front. Sort of a herbal/cola-like flavour as it warms up. It’s unusual in that it seems to become more bland as it warms up. There is a light cherryish flavour towards the back. OK. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2009
Draft at BT. Pours a dark brown body with a tan head. Roasted malt with hints of coffee and burnt malt. A light chocolate note and some light hop bitterness. A decent stout. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - APR 8, 2009
Tap (not nitro) pour at BT. Pours a deep dark brown almost black with a massive foamy head- stealing me of beer in the pint glass :(. Looked good though- nice lace and good head retention. Aroma is nutty , good strong fresh roasted barley - some coffee hints. hints of dark chocolate and a grassy minty and slight citrus hop presence which I kinda liked- but strange in a dry stout. Good chocolate, roast, and piney like hops in the flavor, slight oat slick and smoothness with a very nice drying mineral- calcium finish. Pretty good. On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of nice roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Flavor of roasted/burnt notes. A little bland but not bad.

Tap at the Ginger Man. Chalky aroma, the slightest bit of roast. Flavor is flat out dry ice, minerals, chalk. Carbonation and body are terrible. Just plain bad. I couldn’t even finish a pint of this. PilsnerPeter (3045) - Flushing, New York, USA - APR 13, 2009
Tap at Blind Tiger: Close to opaque pour with a large khaki head. The aroma has evident black malt roast, chocolate chewiness, anise, and a dark crystal nuttiness. A touch over carbonated for the style. Lightly salty upfront with a rich black malt character. Quite chocolaty with mild nutty notes and a bitter finish that is both husky and hop spiciness. Solid profile with more malt depth than most Dry Stouts. BREWMUSKCLES (2673) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 31, 2008
t @ g m... light and adequate in every way. light of palate yet still adequate in flavor i felt the beer was fresh flavorful and a better than decent representation of the style and it did not seem to be low in alcohol. fredandboboflo (1570) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 13, 2009
Tap at BT last week. Aroma of bitter chocolate, heavily roasted malt, maybe some charcoal and ash. Flavor became a bit too much charred. A touch watery and ashy in the mouth. Still not bad. Jblauvs (1358) - Chester, Vermont, USA - JUN 14, 2009
