Dark brown with fine tan head. First whiff of the aroma was red wine, but it quickly almost disappears and the aroma becomes malty sweet, chocolate. Taste is sweet, soft, caramel, butter, a little liquorice. Nice brew, but a little to sweet for my liking. Would categorize it as an imperial stout.

Bottle received in trade with tricksta_p, cheers! Pours dark brown with an average sized lasting off-white head. Aroma of malt, roasting, liquorice, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Milky chocolate medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium to light body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: black with medium, beige head. Aroma: blue grapes / grape juice, fruits, bread, metal, fruits, some tartness and dark malts. Taste: pretty high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of grapes, plums, light coffee. Palate: medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. Easily drinkable. I miss the roasted character and heavy bitterness.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black. Very malty (roast/burnt malts, toffee, burnt sugar, chocolate, hint of coffee). Fruity (dark fruits, berries). Spicy and yeasty. Sweet throughout. Alcohol quite noticeable. Drying roast malty finish. More Belgian than Imperial? (2008)

Very dark brown pour with creme head. Both aroma and taste of roasted malts and clear chocolate, but later on also some chemical tone (phenol?) in the nose. Easy drinkable, bit low on the bitterness. Doesn’t develop very much, although slight licorice in the aftertaste.

On tap at Bierfestival Groningen ’16. Dark with not much head, very little aroma. Milky flavor and thin palate. Better as it warmed; not as sharply milky, more grassy. It wasn’t bad, but I was unsure if I liked it.
