Dayton, OH AleFest:This beer had a small sized ivory head with fine-small bubbles that was mostly lasting. It had a clear body along with some lively carbonation. The hue was orange and the nose was malty and hoppy. This beer's flavor was sweet and bitter tasting. The mouthfeel was smooth, thin and somewhat watery. This beer left excellent lacing on the sides of my glass. Deep bronze color, light caramel color, light head and lacing. The aroma is lightly hoppy. The body is light and easy to drink, definately a lager but with some great malty tastes, caramel and very earthy. Good vienna! AlchemistZ (493) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUN 23, 2005
Deep, copper color with a creamy head of foam. Sweet, toasty maltiness with a campfire mashmallow character. Acidic crispness underpinned between layers of sweet, toasty maltiness and a dry finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and medium. Pretty much perfect for style but also a pretty boring style. If this had a lusher, more saturated flavor it would probably receive higher marks. Perfect with a slice of pizza. nealblind (1977) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - FEB 9, 2016
red gold pour. aroma toasted caramel, spun honey. Tastes bread, honey, rye, slight floral german hops solidd JStax (7185) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 3, 2017
Draft pour. The beer is a clear copper color with a white head of foam. The aroma has spicy notes and hints of molasses. Spicy in taste, and a subtle, earthy character. Medium body and high carbonation.

cloudy butterscotch color, phlegmatic head. some residual head clung to the side of my glass like tiny barnacles. this was my hometown brew for years, and from the tap i considered it edgy and brash. now, far from the shadows of the tetons, i finally rate a bottle. the distance has mellowed it a bit--tho perhaps too much 'cause there's also a note of very slight sourness. otherwise: spicy applesauce woody, wheat bread, autumn grasses and drying flowers. easy smooth palate, adequate bitter finish. not as sweet as a great lakes elliot ness. almost a "grand" beer--and that's not a term we use lightly in the environs of the grand teton. Delicious! Tasty, but smooth drinking lager from a remarkable small town brewery. Terminus (3716) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 18, 2003
bottle-pours a deep copper golden color-lots of aggressive big bubble carbonation. Off white head that dissipated quickly. super sweet malt aroma. nice palate-sweet and spicy german hops. very thick like bobs 47. a very worthy lager. thanks to Whaleman on this one That1Guy (2237) - Colorado, USA - FEB 23, 2013
12 oz can pours amber with a small, diminishing white head. Very malt-forward nose. Biscuit, bread, a small hint of DMS. Flavor is more of the same. Quite nice and clean finish. Enjoyed it. BuckeyeBoy (8500) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 13, 2016
On tap at growler guys meridian. pours out a crisp amber topped with a tsand head. Nose is caramel malts light floral hops. Taste is more of the caramel sweet malts and a nice grassy end.
