cloudy butterscotch color, phlegmatic head. some residual head clung to the side of my glass like tiny barnacles. this was my hometown brew for years, and from the tap i considered it edgy and brash. now, far from the shadows of the tetons, i finally rate a bottle. the distance has mellowed it a bit--tho perhaps too much ’cause there’s also a note of very slight sourness. otherwise: spicy applesauce woody, wheat bread, autumn grasses and drying flowers. easy smooth palate, adequate bitter finish. not as sweet as a great lakes elliot ness. almost a "grand" beer--and that’s not a term we use lightly in the environs of the grand teton. Delicious! Tasty, but smooth drinking lager from a remarkable small town brewery. Terminus (3679) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 18, 2003
bottle-pours a deep copper golden color-lots of aggressive big bubble carbonation. Off white head that dissipated quickly. super sweet malt aroma. nice palate-sweet and spicy german hops. very thick like bobs 47. a very worthy lager. thanks to Whaleman on this one That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - FEB 23, 2013
12 oz can pours amber with a small, diminishing white head. Very malt-forward nose. Biscuit, bread, a small hint of DMS. Flavor is more of the same. Quite nice and clean finish. Enjoyed it.

Crusty big bubble head takes a while to die down.. clear orange brew.
Clean malts are the lion’s share of the aroma.. toasted more than caramel.
Flavor is very fresh... inviting.. very smooth and drinkable.. toasted malts with a low earthy hop presence.. Great body for the style and again.. drinkable for days.
Everyone loves Zonker, but the Vienna lager is my favorite Snake River brew. BuckeyeBoy (7510) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 13, 2016
On tap at growler guys meridian. pours out a crisp amber topped with a tsand head. Nose is caramel malts light floral hops. Taste is more of the caramel sweet malts and a nice grassy end. Kevin (2199) - Montana, USA - JUL 22, 2007
six pack bottle. murky tan body with a nice thick head. cotton candy like aroma. i had the first of the 6 after i drank an optimator, and i thought damn that optimator makes everything taste sweet after you drink it, so i didn’t take notes, but i was mistaken, this is a sweet beer too. malty plum fklavor , a bit of apple & diacetyl, but it works out alright. a bit drier on the finish but still has that apple note to it. the caramel taste here is great. a bit of oilyness on my tongue. i’ve gone through the whole 6 pack in the last week and i don’t regret the purchase. brucebruce81 (391) - GUAM - JUN 21, 2012

Can pours clear amber with a thin tan head with good retetion. Not much nose, just a bit of bread and faint grass. Taste is slightly sweet malt, light bittering and grassy hops. A slight roast on the finish. Light thin body, I could see me pounding quite a few if I had more.
