Black with brown, medium head. Roasted malt aroma. Taste is lots of licorice; almost salty. Hints of coffee and roasted malt. At 82 IBUs, it is balanced very well with a bitter finish. Very enjoyable. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - NOV 8, 2007
Very rich and malty drink - lots of roasted espresso bean notes with a moderate bitter licorice presence. Had a lot of earthy accents with some berry and root. Drink is almost entirely dominated by the roasted coffee presence, which is nice, giving it a strong Porter essence. High ABV well hidden in the body. Very full bodied, well composed drink.
