This lip-smacking dark ale is mellow and malty. The aroma is reminiscent of bittersweet dark chocolate and the caramel and roast malt flavors are exceptionally smooth. Medium bodied, with a slightly sweet edge but a dry finish.

Rating #1985 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 87 - Draught at taphouse Pours a bubbly brown with a weak white cap, little retention. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, earth. Palate is mild cocoa, espresso - sweetness curbed by lovely earth bitterness pronounced. Decent porter.

JPDIPSO (6261) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Very dark brown in color. Moderate tan head. Decent lace. Aromas of lightly roasted malt, dark chocolate with hints of nibs. Feel is quite light. Light sweetness in the from with hints of molasses. Big flavors of dark roasted malt, coffee, and extra dark chocolate. Linger has some ashes and charcoal. An interesting return in the linger with some green wet grains. Feel thickens as it sets/warms. The more this warms the more I like it. A simple fairly satisfying porter. 6/10

Draught at brewpub
Black color with compact head. A bit coffeish, a bit chocolatey, thin and rather dry, with light metallic finish.
Not exactly a Porter, not bad, but also not exciting.

thb (832) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 5, 2014
Pitch black with inch of pillowy light brown foam. Aromas chocolate, toast, caramel, nuts, wintergreen. Taste is sweet with fruits, caramel up front, moving to a crisp, roasty bitter finish. Delicious - has the rich comforting sweetness of a good porter with a bit of zippy tang to it.

mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - JUN 26, 2014
Superbly nice, particularly given the low ABV. Smooth. Roasty, and dry. Very flavorful -- getting a lot of coffee notes.

50belair (3679) - Florida, USA - JUN 15, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with an off white head. Dark roasted malt aromas. A bit watery but with nice dark roasted malt notes. Some expresso and bitter chocolate low lights. Good body and mouthfeel.
