Aromas of molasses, vanilla, raw grains. Some cherry fruitiness, oak, and smoke.
Tastes of dark chocolate, darkly toasted marshmellows (a sweet woody flavor).
Dominated by sublte roasted malts.
Hints of hazelnuts (think nutella).
Good bittersweet finish.
Easy-going palate, creamy texture.
Finishs dry and sticky, like a bitter chocolate milkshake.
A sublty satsifying porter, not overly thick + smoky like many of the genre.

On draught at the brewery taproom in Snoqualmie, WA. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy beige head that has some good retention and some spotty lacing. Aroma of oatmeal malt, dark chocolate a touch of coffee and some roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, mild carbonation with flavors of roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, and some coffee. Finish is slightly sweet at first and then quickly changes to a dry oatmeal and multi-grain malt aftertaste. gkost (1069) - Alaska, USA - APR 30, 2009

22oz bottle pours a dark red/brown with a one finger white head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, flavor follows suit. This was a pretty good porter but not the best ever. I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase it but worth trying. gracefullypunk (667) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 31, 2009

22415brewery (379) - Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Half gallon growler fill sampled approx 30 minutes after visiting the brewery. Pours a dark brown-black, some very deep ruby-like highlights when held up to the light and a thick dark beige cap of foam. Aroma is of roast, the blackish scent of dark roasted barley, some notes of deep cocoa and no hop presence. Smooth roasted flavor with faint notes of dark cocoa powder, coffee, and a little light toffee. Bitterness balances well and is smooth. The carbonation helps clean up the finish. At 5% ABV this is one of the few sessionable Porters out there since the trend is heading toward the over 6% range. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Very dark brown in color. Moderate tan head. Decent lace. Aromas of lightly roasted malt, dark chocolate with hints of nibs. Feel is quite light. Light sweetness in the from with hints of molasses. Big flavors of dark roasted malt, coffee, and extra dark chocolate. Linger has some ashes and charcoal. An interesting return in the linger with some green wet grains. Feel thickens as it sets/warms. The more this warms the more I like it. A simple fairly satisfying porter. 6/10

22oz bottle pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is light ash some smoke and a nice roast malt. Taste is more of the ash roast malts some coffee a d chocolate. Gregory (357) - Pullman, Washington, USA - JAN 18, 2003
So malty. The palate, is rich, somewhat sweet. But the malt flavor is really the big thing. It poors a dark color, with a nice brown head. The flavors become darker, roasted, nicely done.
