In the bottle at the 2004 Crescent Moon Vintage Beer Tasting. This beer had a nice malty feel to it. I like it a lot. Very good hop and malt balance. Still impressively carbonated even though it was about a 12 year old bottle of beer. DarkElf (3062) - La Jolla, California, USA - JUN 9, 2004
(Bottle) Fruity, malty and moderately sweet with a mildly bitter hops presence, this is a pretty flavorful and enjoyable pale ale which demonstrates solid balance; The long lasting finish is still quite malty with some sweetness, but the hops becomes just a little more assertive and shows a wee bit of grapefruit-- very nice; Medium bodied but heavier and a little more sticky on the palate than most American pale ales, but I like it; The nose is quite fruity and malty with a mild sweetness, but a very light hoppiness; Deep orange in color with a very slight cloudiness; Light tan head is nice and frothy, with solid retention and fairly dense lacing; The brewer has done well here with a solid and above average effort for this style elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - MAR 31, 2004
Brownish gold, small white head, aroma of citrus & pine hops. Malt character is good, fruity (oranges?), hops finish is very nice. Well balanced and enjoyable, a decent APA. auto (163) - California, USA - JAN 27, 2004
this is a golden bodied, white headed, thin palated, light tasting beer. it's pretty good, not great. frankR (149) - Livermore, California, USA - JAN 2, 2004
Smells and tastes of pine hops, yet well balance. Very refreshing. Drank from a bottle after a long day of cross country skiing, this brew was a nice refreshing way to end the day.

Honey colored pour with a quickly fading head. Nose has a weird butterscotch aroma. Slight hop bite and a strange sweetness come out on the first sip. Dont know what to make of this one. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - OCT 4, 2002
Lt brown color, medium head. Toasted malts, slightly hopped. “odd” taste, some sweetness. Finish is mild, Aftertaste is slightly bitter. jazz88 (2681) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 4, 2002
Bottle. Some hop flavor and slightly fruity. Rather bland for a pale ale. Shadallion (534) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 30, 2001
Medium body, light color. Citric, piney aroma and a surprisingly crisp, bitter flavor. Nearly an IPA. A touch sour at the end, but a nice effort. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 2, 2001
Fruity, hoppy, and refreshing. Very balanced and flavorful. Fresh, clean, and tasty. Sweet malt / bitter finish; complements well. Just a bit cloying in the finish, but otherwise a very fine pale ale.
