Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Light grapefruit and light pine aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with malt and light woodsiness. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine linger with light caramel. Well balanced. slowrunner77 (11938) - Reno, Nevada, USA - AUG 19, 2014
"More than adequate earthy and spicy rye atop what was a surprisingly good english style pale ale (usually not a fan, but this is an exception). Not my favorite, but enough to notice. I’d get it again..." Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a pure deep gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up a rye to a spicy hop like twang mixing with some sweet maltiness with a touch of toasted malts or toasted German rye bread. The taste has a decent level of sweet maltiness and it rolls quickly into grapefruit like hops, sort of a tart tangelo and then a spicy rye component around the edges. This is a nice pale ale with a pleasing level of nearly rich hop bitterness to stay well ahead of the maltiness. Ratman197 (14698) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 7, 2012
On tap at Social Kitchen poured a hazy tarnished gold with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of rye, light earthiness and light fruittiness. Palate was light odied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, citrus and bread with a crisp lingering citrus finish.
