Pours black with a mottled, foamy head that lingers a while. Nose is faint roasted grains and notes of floral hops. Taste is slightly bitter. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Decent brew.

On tap @ Malibu Sundowner. Black pour with a tan head. Roasted malt and coffee grounds. Earthy, some cocoa powder, and grass. Kind of chalky on the palate. On tap at Social Kitchen. Pours a Mahogony hue with a beige head. Caramel aroma. Light caramel, light prune flavor, some clove, and roast flavor with light astringency. Medium bodied. Light caramel and light roast lingers.

A- unfiltered water down brown with thin edges and a light tan thin head. S- good wet earth, soggy coffee grounds, hops, musty hay, weak roasted malts, some chalk and vegetable notes (green peppers). M- thin body with a flat carbonation. Palate is also mild. T- bitter hop notes of grapefruit, soap and grass to start. Some weakly roasted malts are next with watered downed coffee notes and some dry chalkiness. Ending is a long bitter hoppiness with vivid grapefruit and grass, light charcoal and tea bitters.

On tap at Social Kitchen poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roastiness, bakers cocoa and earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roastiness, bakers cocoa and chalkiness with a smooth lingering roasty chalky finish.
