UPDATED: NOV 5, 2003 This is one of my favorite IPA's. It didn't beat out Stone, but I can't get Stone locally. (You hear that, Stone? hint, hint) I love all the hops stuffed into this one. It has a nice orange color with not too much head. Excellent for those warm summer evenings. Or any other time! Sham (1844) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2004 Pours a hazy amber, with a nice creamy head and great lacing. Floral and citrus hop aromas almost cover up all the malt. Well balanced flavors of malt and hops, a bit of bread comes out as well. Very delectable. Creamy palate. Damn fine IPA DomiNate (123) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 2, 2004
Golden brown, and a little cloudy on the pour. Generous amount of head. Smells of grapefruit and citrus. Sharp bitterness, just like eating a freshly ripe grapefruit without any sugar. Nice beer. Volgon (2763) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 27, 2004
RBSG 2004, from a growler: Hazy orange with a small white head. Grapefruit aroma, starts lightly bitter and ends very bitter. Crisp ending with a long aftertaste, full bodied and lively carbonated. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - AUG 5, 2004
Light orange gold color. Medium head. Aroma is grapefruity and floral. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and floral. Nicely balanced. Very smooth taste despite the bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Got in a trade with TheFugitive. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours hazy orange amber color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, orange rind, floral, pine, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness. Good amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pine, floral, grass, caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance under the bitterness; and zero cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great balance and complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. helmut101 (2) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - APR 3, 2015 does not count
A big hoppy bad boy with a great malty back bone! Great citrus nose, I would recommend this for the Hop Head in your life!! riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - SEP 9, 2009
Lots of grapefruit and floral notes on the nose. Very citrusy. Some light sweetness underneath. Golden amber pour, lots of lace and a decent creamy head. Citrus - grapefruit, a good deal of this. Some floral notes. Soft malts add balance, but this is a fantastic hoppy drinkable ipa. I could only imagine if this were right off tap. 1 month old growler, but still awesome. tap at brewpub August 2012-man, this place is crazy!! It was Boise State Football night so everybody in the place was going nuts! Pours dark orange with a hint of haze with a small eggshell fluffy head. nose is piney woody hops straight up C hops. Flavors follow suit-tons of pine, resin and lasting speriment like bitterness. damn this is bitter-lasts forever! Very dry and lush body with nice carbonation. I love the huge pine here-very much my type of IPA. Textbook example here! Awesome!
