3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by Jeromy, thanks
Appearance: Clear amber with a big off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Caramel malts and sweet tropical fruits
Taste: Grapefruit, caramel and citrus
A nice IIPA, the Dagger Falls big brother.
a little maltier flavor and body than I prefer in a IIPA, but pleasant enough Thick and resiny, caramel malt, light biscuit and lots of pine and grapefruit. Seeing as how the old arse daggerfalls I had was quite horrible, this was actually a pleasant surprise :) kathouse (1927) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - OCT 28, 2016
On tap at Bardenay. Dark amber with sticky lacing. This one has a moderate malt component of caramel and grain, but the hops control the sweetness well. Earthy and herbal flavors and a dry finish. BuckeyeBoy (8204) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 6, 2015
Have had this from can and on tap. Pours out a hazy orangeish amber topped with a sand head. Nose is nice heavy hops caramel sweetness and some tropical fruit. Taste is more of the sweet caramel malt along with a nice hop bitterness and some pine. stevoj (5367) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 2, 2015
On tap at Cole brewpub. Cloudy orange amber with silky head. Pretty subdued for a 9.2% beer, although finish stings a bit. Perhaps served a bit too cold, character may evolve as temperature settles. Malt comes through the hop overload in the aroma, but the hops obliterate them in the taste. Sharp finish. Tmoney99 (14769) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Can shared by Beerpig317. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good to excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bitter flavor with a medium to heavy smooth bitter finish of moderate to long duration. A solid bitter beer.

New review from the can.
12oz can picked up at the COOP over the weekend... pours with a 1" long lasting off white head... great lacing... the brew is hazed orange amber.
Nose is a tropical fruitbowl of hoppiness.. mango, pineapple, tangerine... and then, some GARLIC.. damn it!!
Flavor mirrors the aromas and is bloomed by big maltiness that never verges on "sweet"... surprisingly not that bitter.. IMO, not even as bitter as the standard Dagger.
Seems a bit thick IMO.. still a good carbonation delivers a cleansing brush and makes me ready for another sip.
Pretty damn good. IndianaRed (4871) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 11, 2013
On tap at the original Boise BP. Deep orange with a small but dense sandy colored head. Big citrus peel aroma. Huge resiny citrus flavor. Quite sweet and heavy palate. Long lingering classic west coast IPA bitter trailer. Very smooth and slick with soft carbonation. Gription79 (2891) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - JUL 10, 2011
Thanks Jeremy. The nose had huge hop complexity. There were signs of diacetyl in the aroma. Taste was pine, resin, caramel malts, and some butterscotch. Ibrew2or3 (8748) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Courtesy of Jeremy. Thanks for trucking this down from Boise. Bomber pours copper with off white head. The aroma has grapefruit hops, more citrus notes and a decent load of butterscotch. The taste has pleasing notes of grapefruit hops and pine hops that come together in harmony. I get a bit of butterscotch coming into the picture about midway as well as growing notes of resiny bitter hoppiness heading into the finish. jake65 (3979) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - APR 24, 2011
Bottle - thanks BuckeyeBoy! Pours a dark amber color with a little haze and a modest sandy head. Sweet, intoxicating aroma of resiny, piney, and floral hops. Tastes hoppy enough, mostly floral, and some light malty sweetness. Has the grassy, dirty floral thing going on. Really reminds me of a bigger version of the original, which is good. I love the was double dagger smells, but I’d lean towards drinking the original on a daily basis...
