Shared from a growler with FlacoAlto. Aromas were mostly fruit, apricot, mango, grapefruit. Flavors were very fruity up front with a decent greener bitterness on the finish. Not bad. FlacoAlto (4214) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - SEP 16, 2008
Pours from the growler an amber tinged, rich copper color with only a wisp of a head. The aroma is a touch soapy, though predominantly of fruity, citrus and tropical fruit like notes. The hops seem perhaps a bit muted in the aroma compared to a vibrantly fresh IPA.Braudog (6793) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 24, 2006
This has a nice punchy hop character to it in the flavor. Quite fruity up front but it gets significantly herbal with a nice bitterness to it in the finish. Hop-fruit flavors of lychee, peach, tangelo and candied grapefruit zest are offset in the finish by notes of chives, pine and a significant, somewhat astringent herbal note that lingers on the tongue along with a biting bitterness.
This is a nice IPA, perhaps a touch week in the aroma, but the flavor brings an interesting balance between the up front, expressive fruitiness and the sharp, biting hop notes in the finish.
Telluride Blues & Brews Fest Sep 06. Very earthy orange, like they mixed dirt into it. Big and chewy hoppy beer with a lot of bitterness, but not much body or backing. erway (1004) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - NOV 29, 2004
Pours copper/red with a full head and good lacing. Very little hop aroma but a descent caramel nose. Overyl balanced hoppiness in the flavor w/ a huge smack of diacetyl. Like dirty LSD if you know what I mean. Nicely bitter finnish but nothing profound. Served at like 33F. Inexcusible! whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 20, 2004
Amber body. Pronounced "earthy hop aroma" as Mark very accurately stated. Woody and malty too. No hackneyed citrus and pine in this IPA which is refreshing. Quite dry. Good balance and decent overall but the hop quality just doesn’t seem as fresh as it could be.

Poured amber with a thin head. Served way too cold and at this temperature, there is no aroma. As it warmed, the earthy hop aroma came through. Moderately hopped with earthiness in the flavor. Bitter finish. A decent beer. Terminus (3702) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 14, 2003
UPDATED: APR 10, 2004 ReRate-tap at brewpub- pours a deep copper hue, much darker than most ipa's Great citrus aroma with some grainy notes also. very nice balance between the hops and malts, almost to Hop Devil levels! A fantastic brew!
tap-brewpub-nice balance overall with the aroma, hops, malts and appearance. Not an overpowring ipa, but very balanced. the cascades and centennials come through not to harshly. a solid brew
