An ok beer with well-rounded malt backbone and not a lot of hops. Nothing special here. DroolYeast (1685) - Odder, DENMARK - NOV 5, 2014

Bottle in a teku. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of spices, some dark malts, light chocolate, and hints of dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not really that good. Holmen1 (6471) - Stavanger, NORWAY - APR 5, 2014
Holmen2 (4034) - NORWAY - APR 5, 2014
Brown. Not much head. Aroma of plums, dates, vanilla and caramel. Similar taste. Round mouthfeel. Very moderate bitterness.

Shared bottle at local tasting, probably 2012 vintage, probably from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 5.8%. Brown colour. Moderate aroma of caramel malts and mild spices. The flavour has hints of liqorice, anise, mild spices and brown bread, but is not very sweet. Minimal hops. abemorsten (3683) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - APR 5, 2014

Ølhus, Copenhagen - very dark brown pour with a decent sized off-white head. Dark malts, caramel, choc, slight toffee, nutty, some dark fruit and slight spice. Pretty good overall.
Pours a dark, barely translucent sepia with a fairly thick, if none too persistent, pale wheat head. Syrupy aroma has notes of caramel and cinnamon - a bit on the sweet side, but it has a malty hint. Robust, malty flavor delights with smoky, earthy, caramel, spicy and subtle woody hop notes, not as sweet as the aroma, no bitterness. Rather nice. Hearty texture has thickness and fizz to spare. Gotta love the label - I think I’ll save it for a holiday decoration. Hey, what better deco than a bunch of winter brew bottles? ;)
